Description

Step into a career with ASM, where cutting edge technology meets collaborative culture.

For over 55 years ASM has been ahead of what’s next, at the forefront of innovation and what’s technologically possible. With more than 4,500 ASMers representing 70 nationalities, our people and our advanced semiconductor devices are playing a crucial role in trends such as 5G, cloud computing, AI, and autonomous driving.  But we’re more than just a tech company. We value diversity, inclusion and sustainability as we strive to make a positive impact on the world.  Our development programs help support your growth, shaping your future and pushing the boundaries of innovation to unleash potential.

Job's mission

Are you passionate about shaping the responsible adoption of AI, Generative AI and Agentic AI in a global high-tech environment? Do you want to help ensure that AI solutions are trustworthy, compliant, secure, human-centered and value-driven? If so, we invite you to join ASM’s Global Digital Transformation organization as an AI Governance Specialist.

At ASM, Global Digital Transformation is accelerating the responsible use of data, AI and digital capabilities to strengthen business outcomes, innovation, operational excellence and employee experience. As AI rapidly evolves from predictive models to Generative AI, copilots and increasingly autonomous AI agents, strong governance is essential to balance value creation with safety, trust, compliance and resilience.

You will play a critical role in operationalizing ASM’s AI Governance program: translating responsible AI principles, regulatory expectations and enterprise risk appetite into practical policies, controls, review mechanisms and adoption guidance. You will support governance across the AI lifecycle, including AI use-case intake, risk classification, model and solution review, GenAI acceptable-use guidance, AI agent oversight, third-party AI assessment, security and control assurance, monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement. You will collaborate globally with Data & AI Intelligence, Digital & AI Services, Enterprise Applications & Architecture, Legal, Privacy, Government Affairs, business process owners and technology teams to make responsible AI practical, scalable and embedded in how ASM works.

What you will be working on

You will help establish and operate effective and scalable AI Governance processes, policies, controls, awareness and practices, working closely with the AI Governance Lead and cross-functional stakeholders across technology, business, legal, privacy, cybersecurity and risk domains.

  • Develop and operationalize ASM’s AI Governance framework, policies, standards and procedures for AI, Generative AI and Agentic AI use cases.
  • Run practical governance processes, including AI use-case intake, risk classification, review workflows, approval support, control tracking and documentation standards.
  • Perform AI risk assessments covering fairness, bias, explainability, privacy, cybersecurity, robustness, transparency, human oversight, IP, regulatory, reputational and operational risks.
  • Define and maintain guidance for responsible GenAI adoption, including acceptable use, prompt and output handling, data leakage prevention, human-in-the-loop review, content validation and safe experimentation.
  • Support governance of AI agents and autonomous workflows, including role-based access, delegated decision boundaries, escalation paths, traceability, monitoring and incident response requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving regulations, standards and industry practices, including the EU AI Act, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO/IEC 42001, applicable data protection requirements and emerging GenAI governance expectations.
  • Understand relevant intersections with cybersecurity, product and semiconductor-industry requirements, including EU CRA, EU NIS2 and SEMI E187/E188.
  • Partner with data scientists, AI engineers, architects, cybersecurity, privacy, legal and business teams to embed responsible AI controls into solution design, delivery and lifecycle management.
  • Maintain auditable governance records across the AI lifecycle, including the AI use-case and system inventory, risk classifications, assessment evidence, control implementation status, approvals, exceptions, residual-risk acceptance, monitoring results and periodic reassessments.
  • Support AI literacy, awareness and adoption by creating practical guidance, training materials, governance playbooks and leadership reporting that make responsible AI understandable and actionable across ASM.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Technology Management, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Law, or a related field;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity governance, technology risk, AI governance, compliance, privacy, audit, or related risk-management functions.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI principles, AI ethics, bias, fairness, transparency, explainability, accountability, human oversight, model risk management and AI lifecycle controls.
  • Good working knowledge of Generative AI and Agentic AI concepts, including large language models, copilots, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt and output governance, AI agents, orchestration, monitoring and guardrails.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, frameworks and standards such as the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, data protection requirements and emerging AI assurance practices.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory, ethical and technical requirements into pragmatic controls, guidance and operating processes that enable innovation while managing risk.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and collaboration skills; fluent in English and comfortable engaging with global business, legal, technology and leadership stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with solid competencies in process definition, risk assessment, control design, documentation, reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Technology-savvy, curious and committed to staying current with AI, GenAI, agentic automation, data platforms, cybersecurity and digital transformation trends.
  • Reliable, accountable, proactive and structured, with the autonomy and drive to deliver results in a global, fast-moving and collaborative environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 tools; experience with workflow, documentation, risk register, dashboarding or collaboration tools
  • Experience with AI governance tooling, model inventories, risk management platforms or audit processes
  • Relevant professional certifications in AI governance, AI risk management, AI security, or responsible AI are advantageous. Examples include IAPP Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP), ISACA Advanced in AI Security Management (AAISM), ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor, GIAC AI Platform Security (GAIPS), or equivalent qualifications.

What sets you apart

  • Help shape the responsible AI foundation for a global high-tech company at a pivotal moment for AI, GenAI and Agentic AI adoption.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge AI governance developments and work on global projects with experts across data, AI, cybersecurity, architecture, legal, privacy and business domains.
  • Be part of ASM Global Digital Transformation, contributing to an AI-ready and AI-native organization where responsible innovation, business value and trust go hand in hand.
  • Work in a flexible, international and collaborative environment with a can-do mentality, strong learning opportunities and room to help build a capability that matters for ASM’s future.
