Job Description Summary
The HRSG Structural Design Principal Engineer serves as a recognized subject matter expert and provides advanced technical leadership to the Engineering team. This role is responsible for driving engineering excellence, supporting mid-level complexity projects, and mentoring next generation engineers. The Principal Engineer collaborates cross-functionally to drive risk management while fostering innovative solutions to meet business and customer solutions.Job Description
- Serve as a recognized technical authority within HRSG Structural Design, setting standards and influencing key engineering decisions.
- Own design practices and design philosophy. Implementation of code updates and lessons learned.
- Ownership of key RCAs, customer issues, and related CAPA.
- Technical review & oversight of structural design for each project.
- Lead end-to-end design, analysis, and implementation of engineering solutions for moderate-to-high complexity projects.
- Own critical projects and technical deliverables that contribute to the success of HRSG team.
- Act as a primary subject matter expert within HRSG Structural Design, providing technical guidance to project teams, stakeholders, suppliers, and field support.
- Review and approve engineering documentation, analyses, and deliverables to ensure compliance with internal standards and external requirements.
- Collaborate directly with HRSG Senior Principal Engineers to review designs, align strategy, and provide technical direction.
- Identify technical risks, lead cross-functional problem resolution, and define effective mitigations at the system level.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, regulations, and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain technical relevance.
- Identify and implement process improvements using Lean principles, data, and AI-enabled tools to improve safety, quality, and cost.
- Mentor and coach developing engineers, support knowledge sharing, and help identify and close skill gaps across the team.
- Lead development of technical standards, best practices, and team culture that promotes inclusion, accountability, and high performance.
Required Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience in Engineering/Technology & Services Engineering.
- 8 demonstrated expertise in HRSG Structural Design
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
