Position Overview:
The Territory Manager contributes to the development of Insulet’s business within their assigned territory and is responsible for achieving the defined sales objectives. They develop high-quality relationships with healthcare professionals involved in diabetes care, including diabetologists and nurses, as well as with homecare providers, in coordination with Insulet trainers.
Responsibilities:
The Territory Manager is responsible for achieving sales objectives, developing relationships with healthcare professionals, and supporting training initiatives in collaboration with the relevant teams and healthcare professionals.
They will work with hospitals, clinics, and office-based specialist physicians within their assigned territory:
- Meets/exceeds sales objectives and contributes to increasing market share in the assigned geographic area.
- Consistently exhibits a high level of proficiency and expertise in Insulet products and their appropriate use, as well as in their clinical, organizational and competitive environment, when engaging with healthcare professionals.
- Develops and maintains superior relationships with key diabetes decision-makers and influencers across the diabetes ecosystem.
- Contributes to maintaining high-quality relationships with assigned accounts and supports initiatives aimed at promoting the appropriate use of Insulet solutions.
- Identifies creative ways to engage healthcare professionals.
- Maintains strong visibility with decision-makers within assigned accounts.
- Maintains high-quality relationships with professional organizations involved in diabetes care within the assigned geographic area.
- Facilitates and conducts required customer training programs, in coordination with Insulet trainers and the relevant teams.
- Maintains an active role with the corporate teams.
- Works effectively and productively with colleagues.
- Consistently executes all field sales activities with a high degree of professionalism in accordance with established promotional guidelines, internal processes and regulatory framework for medical devices.
- Completes all administrative duties in a timely fashion and works within the specified budget.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Demonstrable successful sales experience in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry, ideally with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience.
- Experience in the hospital environment.
- Prior sales experience in the specialty of diabetes a plus.
Skills/Competencies:
- Results-oriented, with strong business development skills and a drive for challenge.
- Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals.
- Autonomy, rigor in territory organization, and the ability to prioritize actions.
- Team spirit, adaptability and a constructive mindset.
- Proactive approach and ability to contribute to the continuous improvement of sales practices.
- Rigor in complying with applicable ethics, compliance, and promotional rules governing interactions with healthcare professionals.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency in English is an asset.
Physical Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfortable using CRM tools.
- Comfortable working with digital tools and reporting systems.
- Must reside within the geographic area of the assigned area.
- This position requires regular business travel mostly by car.
