This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: Two days in-office.

The Senior Vice President, Total Rewards is a visionary, commercially minded HR executive responsible for shaping, building, and leading the overarching reward philosophy across the entire Booking Holdings enterprise. Reporting directly to the CHRO, this role serves as the foremost compensation expert for the Company and acts as a key strategic advisor to the Talent & Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. Operating with a broad business mindset, this leader will govern the total rewards craft globally, establishing functional matrix reporting lines with brand reward leaders to align reward strategies with business performance, macroeconomic trends, and long-term organizational health. This high-visibility role serves as a critical component of our executive talent pipeline, offering a potential succession runway to top-level HR leadership positions across the group.

In this role, you will get to:

  • Shape the Global Strategy: Define, cultivate, and scale the global total rewards philosophy and framework across Booking Holdings and our brands to ensure independent brand strategies seamlessly align with enterprise-wide financial objectives.

  • Lead Matrix Alignment: Establish and champion functional matrix reporting lines with brand total reward leaders, partnering closely with Brand Chief People Officers to drive consistency, optimize total spend, and share best practices across the enterprise.

  • Drive Organizational Design: Manage and strategically evolve the corporate Total Rewards function (encompassing Corporate Center, Centers of Excellence (COEs) in India and Romania, and Booking Holdings Financial Services (BHFS), optimizing team delivery across executive compensation, equity, benefits, and broad-based programs.

  • Advise the Board: Serve as the primary strategic contributor to the Talent & Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors, providing expert guidance on executive pay, corporate governance, investor expectations, and regulatory shifts.

  • Design Executive & Equity Programs: Oversee the structural evolution of executive compensation plans, short- and long-term incentive metrics, and equity programming to tie rewards directly to long-term shareholder value.

  • Steward Regulatory Compliance: Direct the strategic positioning of the annual proxy statement, SEC filings, and global regulatory compliance in lockstep with internal legal teams and external compensation consultants.

What you have:

  • Global Enterprise Leadership: 15+ years of progressive HR and total rewards experience, with a proven track record of leading complex compensation and benefits functions within a US-listed multinational organization.

  • Matrix Mastery: Demonstrated success navigating and driving strategic alignment across highly decentralized or matrixed corporate structures without relying on direct line authority.

  • Boardroom Governance: Deep technical knowledge of SEC regulations, proxy processes, tax legislation, and global corporate governance, paired with the sophisticated executive presence required to present to Board-level committees.

  • Commercial Mindset: Strategic breadth as a business-first thinker who can leverage market intelligence to anticipate macroeconomic talent shifts and optimize reward programs for attraction and retention.

  • People Leadership & Change Management: Exceptional capability in developing senior technical talent, scaling high-performing teams, and driving large-scale organizational change.
