Master Electrician

Summary: Responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems across various settings. Install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, building structures and grounds.  Support UCC philosophy focused on facilitating the growth of the organization, continually improving quality, and driving to a world class safety environment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance on machines and equipment as needed to prevent breakdown.
• Implement continuous improvement projects to improve reliability.
• Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
• Able to troubleshoot and repair 480/277v, 240/120v, and 24v circuits
• Inspect and test machinery and equipment to detect malfunction. Diagnose and dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repair parts.
• Understanding of AC and DC variable speed drives
• Develop and interpret electrical blueprints and technical diagrams to determine system layouts and installation sequences for new equipment
• Mentor and take part in Uniform Color’s Electrical apprenticeship program.
• Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues on equipment on the production floor
• Manage all electrical keep stock and submit requests for electrical parts needed
• Attend company meetings and training seminars as designated.
• Follow UCC Quality System-approved work instructions and procedures and help improve these as needed.
• Responsible for successful facilitation of all company safety policies and procedures.
• Complete monthly Safety Observations and attend UCC Connect Meetings.

 

Preferred Experience, Training, and Skills:

• Must be a Master Electrician.
• Six years or more maintenance experience.
• Proficient in equipment electrical troubleshooting
• Proficient in electrical panel install and equipment wiring
• Effective communication skills, and decision-making skills.
• Trained and capable of reading PLC ladder logic.
• Completed training and fully understands the theory of operation of twin-screw extruders and injection molding.

 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per day.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to climb stairs multiple times per day.

 

Preferred Education: Associates degree preferred. Completion of 32 credit hour industrial mechanic or industrial electrical program.
