Material Handler - 3rd Shift

Description

We are currently looking for a Material Handler to join the Mittera Receiving team on 3rd shift.

The Material Handler will review transfer requests, the daily schedule, Press department paper needs, and will receive paper deliveries. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Paper Handling Responsibilities:

• Review the delivery schedule and identify deliveries using receiving packing slips and bills of lading.
• Safely operate a forklift and clamp truck to load or unload trucks and transfers at both locations.
• Scans and receives new loads into the paper inventory system and reviews documentation accuracy.
• Keep inventory to established standards.
• Review press schedule and process material request sheets to deliver paper on time to keep all presses on schedule.
• Communicate with press crews on questions, concerns, substitutions and schedule changes. 
• Return paper rolls that are no longer needed to inventory and transfer rolls to proper bin location.
• Replace ink totes when needed, ensuring they are weighed, have proper paperwork, and are placed in assigned location.
• Move rolls to the scrap location.
• Use housekeeping standards to keep paper storage, transfer aisles and dock free of clutter.
• Assist shipping and receiving dock. 
• Ensure production meets proper department goals and metrics.
• Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities

• 1-3 years of previous forklift driving experience (clamp truck driving experience desired but not required).
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. 
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to accurately multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to get in and out of equipment regularly, sit and stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally.

Physical Requirements

• Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling and bending
• Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordination.
• Requires near visual acuity.
• Requires working around and operating departmental equipment.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility.
• Requires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances.
