JOB SUMMARY
JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for supporting and implementing initiatives aimed at improving the economic health and growth of the community This position will provide executive support, including office administration to the Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director and other key Corporation Directors and Managers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate and oversee a diverse range of advanced, multi-track tasks, including deadlines, appointments, internal and external meetings, travel arrangements, committee meetings, and special events.
- Help maintain the Executive Director’s and Assistant Executive Director’s appointment calendar and arrange related travel, including vouchers and expense reports.
- Coordinate, guide, and support a variety of projects related to community events, private or council committee meetings, and special assignments.
- Assess incoming leads and prospects related to economic development opportunities. Route these leads to appropriate internal teams or partners for follow-up and action.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee and manage the department’s purchasing card expenditures. Ensure all transactions are documented, compliant with organizational policies, and within budget limits.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of quarterly business plan reports. Gather input from various departments, compile data, and ensure that reports align with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
- Represent the Economic Development Corporation on various city-wide committees focused on issues related to economic growth, urban planning, infrastructure, and community development.
- On a nontypical basis, may perform other additional duties not listed in this description that are in alignment with the scope of essential job functions.

- Ability to calculate, compute, tabulate and summarize data and/or information. Includes the ability to perform subsequent analysis and actions in relation to these computational operations.

Qualifying Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Economic Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or a related field from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public or business administration.
- Three (3) years of experience in urban economic development, business assistance, public administration, infrastructure development, commercial development, public and/or private finance, or workforce development.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a valid Class C Texas Driver License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of Software programs (including HubSpot).
- Knowledge of/interest in economic development principles.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, work environment.
- Ability to not be satisfied with the status-quo and continually looking to innovate.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Basic Economic Development Course
