Description

Description

The stage is calling. This isn't just a summer job, it's a ministry.

At Camp Timber-lee, your playing becomes part of something bigger. As a member of the Worship Team, you'll help shape chapel services that point campers toward Christ, using your musical gifts to build energy, connection, and meaning all summer long.

If you love playing, thrive in a live band setting, and want to lead people into worship rather than just perform, this is your opportunity to make an eternal impact.

We're hiring across the full band: vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, bass, keys, and drums and percussion.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support worship in chapel and camp services on your instrument
  • Collaborate with the full band to shape cohesive, Christ-centered worship sets
  • Prepare and rehearse sets, including arrangements, transitions, and dynamics
  • Play with sensitivity to the room, knowing when to build and when to pull back
  • Care for instruments, gear, and stage setup
  • Build meaningful relationships with campers and model Christ-centered leadership
  • Support camper arrival and departure weekends
  • Assist with general camp programming as needed

What You Get

  • $7.25/hour + housing and meals included
  • Live on-site in a vibrant, faith-centered summer community
  • Hands-on worship leadership and ministry experience for your resume
  • A full summer of rehearsing and playing with the same band, several times a week
  • Opportunities for spiritual, personal, and musical growth

Important Role Details

  • This is a live-in, residential role
  • Requires active participation in a Christian ministry environment
  • Includes evening and weekend service commitments

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • A professing Christian with a personal faith
  • Proficiency on your primary instrument or voice in a live band setting
  • Ability to lock in with a click track, metronome, or live rhythm section
  • Understanding of worship dynamics, including soft playing, build-ups, transitions, and energy control
  • Ability to learn new material quickly and follow a worship leader in the moment
  • Team-first mindset with strong communication and humility
  • Comfortable praying with campers and engaging in gospel-centered conversations
  • Willingness to be fully engaged in a live-in summer camp environment

Physical Requirements

  • Able to stand or play for extended periods during rehearsals and services
  • Able to lift and move gear up to 50 pounds during setup and teardown

Summer Schedule

  • Staff Training: June 1 – June 12
  • Camp Sessions: June 13 – August 7

Why This Role Matters

You'll spend the summer playing multiple times a day with the same band, which will make you a better musician faster than almost anything else. You'll also watch a room full of campers sing something they'll still know years from now, and you'll be part of the reason they were able to.

That's a summer worth having.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Employment is contingent on background and reference checks
