As an External Warehouse Operations and Strategy Lead, you will drive the operational excellence and strategic evolution of our inbound material flow through External Warehouses. This role requires navigating a fast-moving landscape to unify Manufacturing, Logistics, and Purchasing objectives, ensuring our external warehouse operations are optimized for maximum throughput and efficiency.
What you'll do...
- Drive the Network: Take the wheel of Ford’s external warehouse lifecycle—from the first blueprint to long-term operational success.
- Influence the Roadmap: Dive into new model studies to determine exactly how our supply chain adapts to the next generation of Ford innovation.
- Champion Synergy: Build unbreakable partnerships with 3PL providers and internal plant teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Mastermind Efficiency: Hunt down cost savings and flow optimizations across the entire enterprise, turning logistics into a competitive advantage.
- Optimize the Floor: Lead the charge on RWM and sequencing transitions to create a leaner, faster, and smarter inbound material flow.
- Fuel Data-Driven Growth: Create and refine the KPIs that push our warehouse operations to new heights.
- Dynamic Field Presence: Take your expertise on the road, with 25%–40% travel to engage with our most critical sites.
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Material Flow Engineering or related degree; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
- 3+ years of material flow and logistics experience
- Microsoft suite experience is required
- Strong data analytics background
- Willing to travel
- Strong understanding of lean material flow strategies & lean manufacturing processes

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480-$121,440.
This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-$141,360.
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720-$162,120.
