Job Description:

Microchip Technology is seeking a Product Engineer for its growing Analog business. In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of advanced linear and mixed-signal products from early concept through high-volume manufacturing. You will act as the central technical owner connecting Design, Test, Applications, Quality, Operations, and business teams to drive product success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support product quality, reliability, and the manufacturing readiness process.
  • Work closely with Design, Test, Applications, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Evaluate product data by analyzing yields, reliability, failure analysis, and customer returns to identify improvements and reduce risk.
  • Support sustaining product activities of released products through yield improvement, cost reduction, and customer issue resolution.
  • Communicate technical results, recommendations, and risks to teams and leadership.
  • Manage projects through schedules, milestones, deliverables, resource allocations, and risk mitigation across engineering and operations teams.
  • Validate products through testing, characterization, data analysis, and debug.
  • Help improve organizational execution by identifying process gaps, strengthening NPI practices, improving documentation, and sharing lessons learned across programs.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is welcome.
  • 5-7.5 years of experience in semiconductor product engineering or a closely related technical role, with familiarity across test, validation, design support, manufacturing, quality, applications, or operations.
  • Solid understanding of analog, mixed-signal, or semiconductor product fundamentals, with the ability to learn new technologies and apply engineering judgment across the product lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical work, manage priorities, coordinate cross-functional teams, and move projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data, identify trends, isolate root causes, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment, product debug, test data, validation, characterization, or manufacturing support.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as datasheets, design specifications, test plans, qualification reports, and customer requirements.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex technical topics for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with analog or mixed-signal semiconductor products, including amplifiers, data converters, power-management devices, sensors, interface products, and automotive or industrial ICs; product engineering experience is an advantage.
  • Understanding of semiconductor test methodologies, including ATE testing, characterization, bench-to-production correlation, yield analysis, and test optimization; hands-on experience is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and product lifecycle processes, including reliability, qualification, failure analysis, wafer fabrication, assembly, final test, and product-change management; direct experience is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving and quality methodologies, including 8D, FMEA, SPC, PPAP, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action systems; practical application is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as Excel, Power BI, JMP, Python, MATLAB, Jira, Confluence, LabVIEW, PCB-layout tools, or equivalent platforms; proficiency with one or more tools is an advantage.
  • Understanding of project planning, risk management, and cross-functional execution within a product-development environment; experience leading technical deliverables is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ownership, collaboration, initiative, and a desire to grow into broader technical leadership responsibilities.
