Job Summary
The Warehouse Clerk II is an intermediate support role responsible for independently performing warehouse clerical and operational support activities to ensure accurate material movement, recordkeeping, and inventory control. Role Overview
The Warehouse Clerk II provides independent administrative and operational support within a warehouse, storeroom, or distribution environment. The role emphasizes accurate data entry, documentation control, and coordination to support material flow, inventory accuracy, and shipping/receiving activities.
This position typically reports to a Warehouse Supervisor, Materials Manager, Logistics Supervisor, or Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Transaction Processing
Independently process warehouse transactions such as receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments
Verify transaction details against documentation and system records
Ensure transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner
Inventory Record Support
Maintain accurate inventory records in warehouse management or ERP systems
Investigate and resolve routine inventory discrepancies
Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation activities
Shipping & Receiving Documentation
Prepare, review, and file shipping and receiving documents
Match paperwork to system transactions and physical material movement
Support compliance with documentation and record retention requirements
Data Entry & Systems Maintenance
Enter and update material, location, and transaction data accurately
Ensure data integrity across warehouse and inventory systems
Support routine system updates or corrections as directed
Materials Coordination
Coordinate with warehouse staff to support material staging and movement
Communicate material status, shortages, or issues to supervisors
Support prioritization of warehouse activities as needed
Compliance & Process Adherence
Follow established warehouse procedures, controls, and safety requirements
Maintain documentation to support audits or operational reviews
Identify and escalate process deviations or data issues
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work with Shipping, Receiving, Planning, Procurement, and Inventory Control teams
Respond to routine inquiries regarding material status or availability
Support alignment between physical movement and system records
Process Improvement & Knowledge Sharing
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse accuracy or administrative efficiency
Support standardization of forms, procedures, and workflows
Provide informal guidance to Warehouse Clerk I roles
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience in warehouse, inventory, or logistics environments preferred
Typically 2–4 years of experience in warehouse clerical, inventory support, or logistics roles
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory processes
Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Ability to work independently within established procedures
Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
