Job Description

Group Accounting Policy is responsible for providing technical guidance on complex accounting matters, establishing and maintaining the Group’s accounting policies, and leading the implementation of new and revised financial reporting and disclosure requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • As part of the Group Accounting Policy Team, your primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Monitor, analyse and assess the impact of new and revised accounting standards, interpretations and exposure drafts.
  • Lead and coordinate implementation of new accounting standards and policy changes across the UOB Group, including impact assessments, stakeholder engagement and execution planning.
  • Provide technical accounting advice and guidance on complex transactions, new products, business initiatives and emerging accounting issues.
  • Partner with Business Units, Finance and other stakeholders across the Group to support consistent application of accounting policies.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance or related discipline; professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA Singapore, ACA, ACCA).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements, with the ability to analyse and apply accounting guidance to complex transactions. Experience with IFRS 9, 10, 15, 16 and 18 would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of banking products and services, including loans, treasury products, derivatives and structured products.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical writing skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently as well as in a team in a dynamic environment.
