Estimator 

Location: Dallas, TX

Position Overview

The Estimator position is the second level in our Estimating track and is achieved after completion of new hire training tasks. This position will be responsible for creating and managing estimates and jobs in the residential, commercial, and industrial lines of business.

The Estimator will meet with clients, develop quality and competitive estimates using Xactimate software, manage work through completion, review budgets, and communicate progress with clients and management. Estimators will review invoices and labor timely to ensure costs are included in job costs monthly. Upon completion of required training, qualified candidates will achieve the appropriate Estimator title and position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects from initial scope through completion, ensuring work is completed within established timelines and budgets.
  • Develop project schedules, coordinate resources, and monitor progress to ensure projects remain on track.
  • Coordinate with clients, insurance adjusters, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track project costs, budgets, change orders, and potential cost overruns, taking corrective action when needed.
  • Review project progress regularly and communicate updates, challenges, and solutions to clients and management.
  • Coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors to ensure work is completed according to scope, quality standards, and schedule.
  • Identify project risks, site issues, and resource requirements and proactively communicate solutions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including estimates, contracts, change orders, schedules, invoices, and project correspondence.
  • Conduct project closeout activities, ensuring all work is completed, documentation is finalized, and customer expectations are met.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, safety requirements, company standards, and customer/TPA program requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing deadlines and client needs.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Ability to monitor project budgets, schedules, scopes, and overall project performance.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced project environment.

Qualifications

  • English literacy and fluency.
  • Understanding of MSDS data sheets and their applicability to jobs.
  • Ability to use Our Client's Estimate Format Standards for Xactimate estimates, proposals, etc.
  • Extensive customer service experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with Xactimate.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance with excellent telephone skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain professional interactions with co-workers and vendors.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent lifting over 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, or stand as necessary.
