We are looking for a Production Planner to join Lumentum and support our manufacturing operations by developing and maintaining effective production plans to meet customer demand and delivery commitments. This role plays a key part in ensuring on-time delivery through optimal planning of materials, capacity, and resources, while working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and publish weekly build plans to support On-Time Delivery (OTD) in line with Customer Request Date (CRD) and Order Ship Date (OSD).

• Release, manage, and prioritize work orders based on product yield, material availability, and installed machine capacity.

• Monitor production execution and adjust plans to respond to demand changes, capacity constraints, and material shortages.

Order & System Management

• Schedule and manage sales orders in Oracle ERP, ensuring accurate alignment with production plans.

• Communicate closely with Customer Service and Sales to resolve order changes, priorities, and delivery issues.

• Maintain accurate and timely planning data in ERP and related planning systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with Material Control, Buyers, Manufacturing, Production Engineering (PE), Quality Engineering (QE), Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA), Industrial Engineering (IE), Warehouse, Logistics, and IT to resolve operational issues affecting production or delivery.

• Proactively identify risks to delivery commitments and drive corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.

Shipment & Delivery Support

• Coordinate with Warehouse and Logistics to ensure timely processing and shipment of due-to-ship Sales Orders (SO) and Master Sales Orders (MSO).

• Ensure alignment between production completion, inventory availability, and shipment schedules.

Continuous Improvement

• Support and participate in company initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement projects.

• Contribute ideas to improve planning efficiency, system utilization, and cross-functional collaboration.

Safety & Compliance

• Comply with all company safety rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures.

• Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly and consistently while performing job duties.

• Stop work and promptly report unsafe conditions or behaviors to supervisors.

• Immediately report near misses, incidents, and accidents in accordance with company safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Production Planning or Material Planning within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of production planning, MRP, and inventory control.

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred).

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; advanced planning or data analysis skills are an advantage.

• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

• Familiarity with BOI requirements is an advantage.
