Your role and responsibilities

In this role, we are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our Industrial Automation Digital Organization. You will contribute to successful project results in technology, software, product, and solution development by designing and delivering scalable, high-quality applications.

You will work closely with global engineering teams, UX specialists, architects, and other stakeholders to develop modern industrial applications. As a senior engineer, you will contribute to technical discussions, architecture decisions, software quality, and continuous improvement while supporting and mentoring other engineers.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation (PA) business area in Bangalore and reports to the R&D Line Manager. You will work within ABB’s global technology and engineering organization, collaborating with research, development, engineering, and service teams to accelerate innovation and deliver high-quality solutions.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications, with a strong focus on frontend development using React and/or Angular and backend services using C# and .NET/.NET Core.
• Develop and maintain application workflows involving APIs, relational and time-series databases, while contributing to scalable and maintainable application architecture and microservices-based solutions.
• Ensure software quality through unit testing, code reviews, technical discussions, and engineering best practices, while supporting CI/CD processes and efficient software delivery.
• Collaborate with UX teams, architects, product and engineering stakeholders, while mentoring junior and mid-level engineers and contributing to technical innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 6+ years of professional experience in frontend development using React and/or Angular.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in C# and .NET/.NET Core, including backend service and API development, supported by strong software development fundamentals.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience working with databases, including relational databases. Experience with time-series databases is an added advantage.
• Professional experience with modern software technologies and practices, including Kubernetes, unit testing, CI/CD, Agile principles, Scrum, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, along with a basic understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native application development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with the ability to participate effectively in technical discussions, code reviews, and cross-functional engineering activities.
• Experience in Python and exposure to Industrial Automation or related industrial domains is an added advantage, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
