Description

Just imagine your future with us…

At Aurecon, we see the future through a very different lens. Do you?

Innovation, eminence and digital are at the heart of everything we do. Are you excited about the future?

Are you driven by the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and complex projects around the world and to learn from the best? We are.

Diversity is at the core of everything we do. We work together to create a culture based on respect, trust, and inclusiveness. Our differences are what fuel our creativity.

What will you do?

In this position, you will join our Buildings business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of projects. We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and, it is the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.

  • Lead the technical delivery of major and complex multidisciplinary building projects from concept development through design, construction and project close-out.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise on mechanical building services solutions, including commercial, industrial and mission-critical facilities.

  • Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams comprising mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, ICT, architecture and specialist disciplines to achieve integrated design outcomes.

  • Provide technical governance, oversight and quality assurance to ensure designs meet client requirements, industry best practice, applicable codes and regulatory standards.

  • Drive innovation, digital engineering and sustainable design outcomes through the adoption of industry-leading tools, BIM methodologies and data-driven solutions.

  • Lead design reviews, technical workshops and multidisciplinary coordination meetings to identify risks, resolve complex engineering challenges and optimize project outcomes.

  • Oversee project performance, including scope, schedule, budget, resourcing, risk management and commercial delivery.

  • Support project directors and business leaders in strategic planning, resource forecasting and project prioritization across the portfolio.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to expand Aurecon's services and contribute to business development initiatives.

  • Lead the preparation of technical proposals, pursuits and submissions for key opportunities.

  • Mentor, coach and develop engineers and project leaders, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration and continuous learning.

  • Contribute to the growth of Aurecon's Buildings business by sharing knowledge, promoting thought leadership and enhancing technical capability across the region.

  • Collaborate with local and global teams to bring the best of Aurecon's expertise, innovation and delivery excellence to our clients.

  • Managing work programmes to ensure that they are delivered to client expectations, timeframes and specifications.

  • Engaging with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.

  • Supporting multiple concurrent projects across the entire life cycle, including planning, design verification, tendering, contract administration, financial management, project scheduling and risk management.

We know today’s complex challenges can only be solved through bringing together diverse teams of people from across our business, so there will be opportunities for you to apply your skills and creativity to projects in other geographies and markets.

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need the following:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering; a Master's Degree or relevant postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the design and delivery of building services projects, with significant experience leading large and complex multidisciplinary developments. Experience in data centres, mission-critical facilities, healthcare, or high-rise projects will be highly regarded.

  • Current Professional Mechanical Engineer registration (Level 2 or equivalent).

  • Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and management of multidisciplinary engineering teams across all project phases.

  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence decision-making at senior levels.

  • Proven capability in project and commercial management, including planning, resourcing, budgeting, forecasting, risk management and quality assurance.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical building systems, sustainability principles, energy-efficient design and emerging industry trends.

  • Advanced knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards, legislative requirements and industry best practices.

  • Provide team leadership to ensure coordinated BIM model in line with client expections.

  • Excellent English communication, presentation and report-writing skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a track record of delivering innovative and practical engineering solutions.

  • A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring, developing talent and fostering high-performing teams.
