Role Summary
Marex is seeking a high-calibre Business Management / COO Support professional to support the strategic development, governance and operational delivery of its Italian and wider European FX Investment Services and Payments businesses.
This front-office aligned role will work closely with the Italian business, London-based Group functions, and business stakeholders in Spain and France to support growth, strategic delivery, operational efficiency, regulatory readiness and the adoption of Group technology, products and services across the European platform.
A primary focus of the role is to act as a bridge between the business and the wider Group, coordinating complex, cross-functional initiatives across technology development, product rollout, service enhancements and process change. The role requires strong stakeholder management, the ability to influence senior audiences, and a proven track record of delivering business change in a regulated European financial services environment.
This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable operating in a fast-paced, cross-border environment, where English is the primary business language and close collaboration with colleagues in Italy, London, Spain and France will be required.
Responsibilities
Business Management / COO Support
- Support the Italian and wider European PAY SIM business leadership in the day-to-day management and strategic development of the business.
- Drive and coordinate key PAY SIM business initiatives across Europe, from initial concept through to delivery, rollout and adoption.
- Act as a central point of coordination between the Italian business, London Group functions, Spain, France, Front Office, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk and Finance.
- Track and manage business priorities, strategic workstreams and change initiatives, ensuring clear ownership, governance and timely execution.
- Prepare high-quality materials for senior management, governance forums and executive stakeholders.
- Support development of scalable operating models, governance frameworks and management information.
- Liaise between the business and Group teams to support the rollout of technology developments, new products and new services, including business readiness, user adoption and training.
- Ensure clear escalation and resolution of issues, risks and dependencies.
Strategic Projects and Change Delivery
- Lead or support large, business-critical initiatives, including new product and service launches, technology enhancements, capability buildouts and regulatory-driven change.
- Define project scope, operating models, milestones, training requirements and delivery plans across multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions.
- Drive execution across complex, cross-functional programmes with competing priorities and dependencies.
- Ensure delivery is underpinned by strong governance, clear accountability and effective stakeholder communication.
- Influence and align stakeholders across business, infrastructure and control functions to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Support initiatives spanning product expansion, service development, market entry, technology adoption, infrastructure development and process transformation.
- Coordinate business training, communication and implementation planning to ensure new technology, products and services are embedded effectively across Italy, Spain, France and London-connected teams.
Product, Workflow and Operating Model Support
- Work closely with the business and Control & Support teams to understand and support business activities, workflows, client journeys and control requirements.
- Develop a practical understanding of front-to-back processes, operating models and control frameworks.
- Support new product, new service, new market and new workflow assessments, including process mapping, control considerations, training needs and implementation readiness.
- Translate business requirements into clear inputs for Group Technology and Product teams, ensuring that European business requirements are understood, prioritised and delivered effectively.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability and control across business processes.
Regulatory, Governance and Control
- Support the PAY SIM business in maintaining a strong governance and control environment aligned with Italian and wider European regulatory expectations.
- Partner with Compliance, Legal, Risk and Finance on governance, regulatory and policy-related matters.
- Coordinate responses to audits, regulatory reviews and internal governance actions.
- Support the preparation of governance materials, committee papers and management reporting.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships across Front Office, Operations, Technology and Control Functions.
- Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, balancing commercial objectives with control considerations.
- Communicate complex topics clearly and effectively to both senior and technical audiences.
- Drive alignment and consensus across stakeholders to enable effective delivery.

Skills and Experience:
Core Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in a COO, Business Management, Chief of Staff, Strategy / Execution, or Programme Delivery role within financial services or a similarly complex, regulated environment.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale, cross-functional business initiatives from concept through to implementation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and align senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Experience coordinating delivery across Front Office, Operations, Technology, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Finance.
- Strong organisational and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive outcomes.
- Understanding of relevant Italian and European financial services regulations, including MiFID II and payment services frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of materials for senior stakeholders and governance forums.
- Fluent business English, with the ability to operate effectively across Italy, London, Spain and France.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving capability and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Exposure to FX, Payments, electronic platforms, client onboarding or regulated investment/payment services businesses.
- Familiarity with:
- Bilateral OTC FX
- FX Prime Brokerage (Principal / Agency)
- Payments, money movement workflows and client-facing payment services
- Digital onboarding, client portals, workflow automation or platform rollout
- FX Product knowledge across (Spot, Forwards, NDFs, Options, structured products.)
- Understanding of settlement, payments, SWIFT, virtual IBANs, ERP/TMS connectivity or related infrastructure.
- Awareness of relevant Italian and European regulatory frameworks such as MiFID II, PSD and local supervisory expectations.
