Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Solid Waste Collections Supervisor.•Thorough knowledge of the operation and servicing of automotive equipment
•Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and regulations governing equipment operation
•Thorough knowledge of safe driving practices and occupational hazards of the work
•Skill in the operation of automotive equipment
•Ability to understand and follow specific oral instructions
•Ability to detect signs of the mechanical failure of the automotive and packing equipment
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates
•High School Diploma or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution and one (1) year of experience in the operation of heavy automotive equipment and heavy motorized equipment and possession of a Class B driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina
•Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
