Job Description

The Associate Accountant supports accurate and timely financial reporting by performing month-end and year-end close activities, preparing account reconciliations and journal entries, and maintaining supporting documentation. This position also provides operational and analytical support for Medicare Part D premium billing activities and other team priorities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned month-end and year-end accounting close activities in accordance with established deadlines and procedures
• Prepare, document and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules; research and resolve reconciling items     
• Review account activity, investigate variances and escalate issues or exceptions as appropriate     
• Maintain organized, accurate and audit-ready documentation for assigned accounting processes 
• Assist with Medicare Part D premium billing operations, reporting, reconciliations, research and other client-related tasks as needed
• Partner with the Principal Accountant and team members on process improvements, analysis projects and ad hoc requests
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or related area of study or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience; HS diploma or GED is required

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Excel, including lookups, pivot tables and formulas, and proficiency with Word
• Working knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP and financial close processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with general ledger, account reconciliation, premium billing or other financial systems
• Experience researching account variances, preparing journal entries and supporting reconciliations

Potential pay for this position ranges from $23.08 - $37.02 based on experience and skills.
