About this role:
The Financial Crimes and Regulatory Operations Technology team delivers critical platforms, services, and technology solutions that support Wells Fargo's Financial Crimes, Know Your Customer (KYC), and Regulatory Operations functions. Our mission is to build secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions that enhance operational efficiency, strengthen risk management capabilities, and enable exceptional customer experiences.
This role will play a key part in driving the modernization of our KYC technology ecosystem, with a strong focus on FenX platform implementation, enterprise integrations, cloud-native application development, and microservices architecture. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a passion for innovation, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale KYC and Financial Crimes technology solutions.
- Drive the adoption of modern software engineering practices, cloud-native architectures, and containerized application platforms.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support highly scalable microservices and APIs.
- Provide technical leadership for FenX implementations, including policy configuration, journey orchestration, and enterprise integrations.
- Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations that improve platform reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
- Lead technical reviews, ensure engineering standards are followed, and promote best practices across the development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and serve as an escalation point for critical production incidents.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical growth and innovation within the team.
- Contribute to long-term technology roadmaps supporting Financial Crimes and Regulatory Operations transformation initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Hands-on experience implementing and supporting FenX solutions in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience integrating enterprise applications and services with the FenX platform.
- Proven experience configuring and managing FenX policies, journeys, workflows, and onboarding processes.
- Experience delivering technology solutions supporting Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), or Financial Crimes operations.
- Strong Java development experience, including Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Experience building and deploying applications on OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
- Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools such as Harness.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevSecOps practices, and secure coding standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise customer onboarding, identity verification, or compliance platforms.
- Knowledge of Financial Crimes, AML, Regulatory Operations, and Banking Compliance processes.
- Experience working with cloud-native technologies and container orchestration platforms.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
- Experience with observability and monitoring platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering decisions across teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering excellence.
