Are you a passionate culinary professional ready to take the next step in your career? Larsmont Cottages, located on the breathtaking shores of Lake Superior, is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team at Ledge Rock Grille. In this role, you'll work closely with the Executive Chef to support daily kitchen operations, train and mentor staff, maintain exceptional food quality standards, and help ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and menu execution.
- Prepare and present high-quality food while maintaining recipe, portion, and presentation standards.
- Lead by example during service by actively working alongside the kitchen team in a fast-paced environment.
- Support the training, coaching, and development of kitchen staff to ensure consistent performance and quality standards.
- Assist in maintaining a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on collaboration, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence.
- Contribute ideas for daily specials, seasonal menu items, and feature dishes.
- Monitor food quality, safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices to ensure compliance with company and health department standards.
- Assist with inventory management, product rotation, and ordering processes to support efficient kitchen operations.
- Support staffing and scheduling efforts as directed by the Executive Chef.
- Participate in banquet, catering, and special event food production as needed.
Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
College degree preferred but not required; minimum of three to five years’ related experience; or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands, hear, reach and taste and/or smell. The employee is frequently required to talk, stoop and kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee must be able to work at a fast past for extended periods of time in a high-pressure environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to wet, hot, humid conditions, chemicals or other solutions, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and moderate to loud noise conditions.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules that reflect the business needs of the resort. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
