Description
Description of the company:
Our client is a well-established, close-knit architecture practice with a team of nine. The studio takes on a diverse mix of industrial, commercial, residential, and institutional projects, with a portfolio that's roughly 80% renovations and additions and 20% ground-up new construction. The culture is fast-paced but quiet and comfortable, low-ego and collaborative, with staff regularly helping each other out on code, detailing, and Revit questions. This is a no hire-and-fire environment; the firm is looking to build long-term relationships with its team. Why is this role open:
The firm is losing a senior team member after more than 14 years. They are looking for someone else that can fit into the team long-term.
Responsibilities:- Manage projects independently and see them through from start to finish (soup to nuts).
- Work across a mixed portfolio of industrial, commercial, residential, and institutional projects, including both renovations/additions and ground-up new builds.
- Handle Contract Administration (CA), including regular site visits.
- Mentor and support junior staff, delegating responsibility as appropriate.
- Collaborate closely and directly with the partners on active projects.
- Produce and coordinate project documentation in Revit.
- Contribute to a collaborative office culture, helping troubleshoot code, detailing, and Revit questions with the team.
Must-haves:
- Significant senior-level experience as an architectural/project technologist, with the ability to run projects independently.
- Demonstrated versatility across project types: industrial, commercial, residential, and institutional, rather than specialization in just one.
- Comfortable and experienced with Contract Administration and regular site visits.
- Valid driver's license strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Revit.
- Genuinely comfortable with a portfolio that is majority renovations and additions (~80%), alongside some ground-up new construction (~20%).
- Strong communication and mentorship skills, with experience guiding junior staff.
- Architectural license is an asset but not required.
- Prior experience mentoring or delegating to junior technologists.
- Comfort working in a small-firm environment with direct, day-to-day partner interaction.
Healthy benefits package, effective after three months of employment, plus a discretionary annual bonus program based on individual and firm performance. There is some flexibility for the right long-term fit.
