Job Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities as outlined in the job summary include executing core functions of the Supervisor role, contributing to team objectives, maintaining quality standards, and supporting client service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Non-Qualified: 6+ Years of relevant experience.
- CA Qualified + 4 years relevant experience, ACCA/CPA qualified + 5 years relevant experience.
- Prepare bookkeeping records and financial statements for compilation and review engagements.
- Prepare Canadian corporate income tax returns (T2) and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, ratio analysis, year-over-year (YoY) analysis, and cash flow statement preparation for review engagements.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Apply technical knowledge of ASPE, IFRS, and GAAP to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
- Perform first-level technical reviews for compilation engagements and in-charge reviews for review engagements.
- Collaborate closely with engagement partners and managers to deliver high-quality client engagements.
- Monitor engagement progress, budgets, timelines, productivity, and work plan adherence.
- Identify and proactively escalate delivery risks, delays, client dependencies, and resource constraints.
- Supervise, coach, and review the work of Senior Associates and Associates across Canadian R&C engagements.
- Provide constructive feedback, mentorship, and development opportunities to support team growth and performance.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment focused on service excellence.
- Partner with Canada-based engagement teams and clients to facilitate effective communication and information flow.
- Follow up on outstanding requests, resolve open items, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Develop a strong understanding of client businesses, industries, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations to deliver value-added insights.
- Utilize and promote RSM's review and compilation methodologies and best practices.
- Contribute innovative ideas and process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Effectively leverage internal systems, tools, and technology to streamline engagement delivery.
- Take ownership of assigned deliverables and consistently meet internal and external deadlines.
- Manage smaller engagement clusters and facilitate regular cluster calls.
- Coordinate international job allocations and resource planning in collaboration with Resource Management teams.
- Support workforce planning to ensure optimal utilization and delivery capacity.
