Description:

At Trinity Health Of New England, the Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) plays a vital role in advancing innovative patient care through clinical research. Working under the direction of the Research Administrator and in partnership with Principal Investigators, the CRN coordinates and manages clinical research studies while ensuring participant safety, regulatory compliance, and data integrity.
This position serves as a key liaison among physicians, research participants, sponsors, regulatory agencies, and interdisciplinary care teams. The Clinical Research Nurse provides direct patient care related to research protocols, oversees study implementation and regulatory activities, and contributes to the successful execution of clinical trials that support Trinity Health's mission of serving communities through compassionate, evidence-based care.
The ideal candidate combines strong clinical nursing expertise with research knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects in a collaborative healthcare environment.

What You Will Do

• Coordinate and facilitate all phases of clinical research studies, from feasibility assessment and study start-up through study closeout.
• Collaborate with Principal Investigators, sponsors, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful study implementation.
• Perform protocol-required clinical procedures and assessments within the scope of nursing practice.
• Review study eligibility criteria and assist investigators in determining participant eligibility.
• Manage study participant care throughout the clinical trial lifecycle.
• Monitor participant safety and report adverse events in accordance with study protocols, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements.

• Develop and oversee informed consent processes in compliance with federal regulations and Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements.
• Educate participants and families regarding research studies, procedures, risks, and benefits.

• Prepare, submit, and maintain regulatory documentation including IRB applications, amendments, continuing reviews, adverse event reports, and study correspondence.

• Collect, review, and submit study data according to protocol and sponsor requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the applicable state(s) of practice required.
• Clinical Research certification through ACRP, SOCRA, or equivalent professional organization preferred.

• Clinical research experience in an academic medical center, healthcare system, or industry-sponsored environment preferred.
• Experience coordinating clinical trials and regulatory submissions preferred.
