Description

In this role, you’ll manage enterprise systems, strengthen cybersecurity, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and help bring new technology and improvements to the City. You’ll work closely with IT colleagues, City staff, vendors, and system stakeholders while also contributing to broader IT projects, training, budgeting, technical support, and on-call rotation.

Administer and maintain Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Entra ID using PowerShell to manage accounts, permissions, policies, and licenses. Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange, e-discovery, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Microsoft Forms, and Power Automate; troubleshoot issues, analyze application needs, and introduce new features to City staff. Support the City’s cybersecurity environment, including firewalls, antivirus, email security, data loss prevention, and Proofpoint. Participate in cybersecurity incident management and assist with security policies, procedures, and awareness efforts. Maintain email security protocols including DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM), Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC), and Sender Policy Framework (SPF), along with email signature and Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) mail systems. Support Teams Phone and other assigned infrastructure, servers, and business applications. Coordinate with City staff, system stakeholders, vendors, and IT colleagues using the help desk system to provide superior customer service, technical support, training, research, and recommendations for continuous system improvements. Administer the City and IT intranets and website pages, while supporting internal IT communications, training, and the monthly IT digital newsletter. Participate in technology budgeting, project work, procurement, professional development, and deployment of new systems and improvements. Manage multiple projects and priorities, contribute to broader IT support as needed, and participate in the IT on-call rotation.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with coursework in management information systems, computer science, geographic information systems (GIS), business administration, or a related field.
- Four years of increasingly responsible experience supporting desktops, laptops, tablets, servers, or information systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A+ or Network+ certification.
- A valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and PowerShell.
- Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 12 months of the start date
