Description
We're recruiting for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Aerodrome Safeguarding and Assurance Officer to join our Aerodrome Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the safe, compliant and efficient operation of Jersey Airport.
Working closely with the Head of Aerodrome Operations and a wide range of operational stakeholders, you will help ensure that safeguarding requirements are met, operational assurance activities are completed, safety actions are effectively managed and aerodrome documentation remains accurate and up to date.
This role would suit someone with strong organisational skills, an eye for detail, and an interest in aviation safety, compliance, assurance or operational governance.

Key Responsibilities
- Undertake aerodrome safeguarding assessments relating to planning applications, developments, cranes, temporary obstacles and other activities that may impact aerodrome operations.
- Maintain safeguarding records and liaise with authorities, contractors, developers and aviation stakeholders.
- Carry out routine assurance activities including inspections, evidence reviews, sampling and follow-up of actions.
- Support aerodrome safety management activities, occurrence reviews and safety assurance processes.
- Assist with safety investigations, identify contributing factors and support the development of practical recommendations.
- Monitor and track actions arising from inspections, investigations, audits and change activities, escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Support the review and maintenance of the Aerodrome Manual, Aerodrome Operating Procedures and associated records.
- Prepare reports on assurance findings, safeguarding matters, recurring themes and operational performance.
- Support operational risk assessments, management of change activities and assurance of aerodrome works and contractor operations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent) or able to demonstrate relevant practical experience.
- Understanding of working within structured procedures and operational processes.
- Awareness of safety, assurance or compliance principles.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Full driving licence.
- Experience within aviation, airport operations, infrastructure or another highly regulated environment.
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Experience of audit, assurance or compliance activities.
- Training or qualifications in safety management, safety investigations or change management.
