The Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs) will conduct original research under the supervision of the PIs. The GRAs will be part of the research group that will develop, implement, and evaluate AI-enabled edge computing and Time-frequency, Intrusion Detection, deep learning and reinforcement learning models for real-time anomaly detection and adaptive optimization, integrate blockchain and trust mechanisms into 5G/6G frameworks for secure, resilient military networks, utilizing and expanding Firecell 5G/6G standalone testbed experiments to validate performance (latency, throughput, reliability).
The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor undergraduate researchers working on wireless communications, machine learning, and IoT.
- Write proposals for funding with PIs.
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and conferences (IEEE INFOCOM, Globecom, ICC, JSAC, TMC, etc.) with the PIs.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team spanning AI, wireless systems, cybersecurity, and industrial automation; and contribute to project reporting, NSF deliverables, and broader impacts outreach.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.
- Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
- Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
- For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.
