In this role, you will lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization responsible for the design, maintenance, and advancement of pipeline facilities across our gas distribution business with a primary focus on Ontario and Quebec. You will provide industry-leading technical expertise to projects, operations, and emergency response while introducing innovative technologies and risk-based solutions that strengthen safety, reliability, regulatory compliance, and business performance.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the Pipeline Engineering team, including supervisors, technical managers, and subject matter experts, while setting clear priorities, strengthening capabilities, and fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and a strong safety culture.

  • Establish and maintain pipeline engineering standards, specifications, designs, and technical controls that meet regulatory requirements and support safe, reliable, and fit-for-purpose operations.

  • Deliver responsive engineering services and specialized technical expertise for transmission and distribution pipelines, including assessments, designs, approvals, and operational and emergency-response support.

  • Oversee technical expertise in pipeline materials, welding and fusion, non-destructive examination, coatings, cathodic protection, external corrosion mitigation, and related engineering disciplines.

  • Apply risk-based methodologies and independent judgment to engineering assessments, technical deviations, drawing approvals, and design decisions, balancing safety, reliability, compliance, and financial priorities.

  • Partner with operations, integrity, capital projects, Supply Chain, Business Development, regulators, vendors, and industry bodies to drive performance, introduce new technologies and products, and deliver sustainable business outcomes.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.

  • Registered member with PEO as P. Eng in the Province of Ontario.

  • 8+ years of progressive pipeline engineering experience, including experience leading engineering professionals, technical leaders, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Technically knowledgeable, you understand pipeline design, materials, welding, non-destructive examination, coatings, cathodic protection, AC mitigation, and applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Strategically minded, you apply risk-based methodologies to complex engineering assessments, technical deviations, design decisions, and the introduction of new technologies and products.

  • Collaborative and influential, you build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, technical regulators, vendors, and industry partners while communicating technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Inspiring and accountable, you develop capable, high-performing teams, encourage innovation, make evidence-based decisions, remove barriers, and foster a strong culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement. Working Conditions:

  • Office environment, supporting pipeline facilities across Ontario and Quebec.

  • Periodic travel (10-15%) to field locations, project sites, and other Enbridge offices. Ability to travel throughout Canada and United States.

  • Occasional exposure to operating pipeline and construction environments requiring appropriate personal protective equipment.

  • Participation in on-call and emergency-response support as required.

  • A valid "G" class Ontario driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required which will be validated before hire.

Salary:

  • Ranges from $135,000 – $170,000 CAD for Ontario locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.

  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
