Maintenance Mechanic
What this job involves:
As a Maintenance Mechanic at JLL, you'll play a vital role in keeping our clients' facilities running smoothly and efficiently. You'll be responsible for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across assigned properties. This hands-on position combines independent work with collaborative team efforts, where you'll perform preventive maintenance, respond to repair requests, and conduct facility inspections to ensure optimal building performance. From maintaining HVAC systems to addressing interior repairs and supporting operational needs, you'll help create safe, functional environments where our clients and their teams can thrive. What your day-to-day will look like:
Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems and equipment
Conduct facility inspections and due diligence assessments, documenting conditions that may impact client operations or occupancy
Complete general interior maintenance tasks including hanging fixtures, installing keyboard trays, repairing office furniture systems, and adjusting doors
Maintain HVAC systems by cleaning coils, changing filters and belts, and ensuring optimal equipment performance
Replace lighting fixtures and ballasts throughout assigned facilities
Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and materials as needed to support building operations
Update work order status in real-time using ticketing systems and escalate issues to customers and management promptly
Complete hazard assessments and comply with all safety procedures while maintaining clean, organized work areas
Attend scheduled work meetings and required safety trainings to stay current on protocols and best practices
Required qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1-3 years of hands-on experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds regularly
Capability to work safely from heights and climb ladders up to 30 feet
Ability to climb ladders with a 300-pound weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 pounds
Physical capability to perform frequent climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and overhead work
Willingness to work in adverse conditions including extreme temperatures
Strong attention to safety protocols and ability to recognize and address potential hazards
Preferred qualifications:
Trade certifications or specialized training in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order ticketing platforms
Familiarity with building codes and compliance requirements at state, county, and city levels
Previous experience in commercial real estate or corporate facility environments
Proven track record of completing projects independently with minimal supervision
