Summary
The Verification Engineer (Test Engineer I) design and executes verification activities for Karl Storz Imaging devices and systems, including the design and implementation of test infrastructure to assess image quality, as well as optical, mechanical, and electrical requirements.
Responsibilities include creating and executing thorough verification procedures, documenting results in technical reports for engineering review. Other duties consistent with the general nature and focus of the job and/or the goals and objectives of the department may be assigned.
2 positions: 40 hrs/week, 100% on-site in Goleta, CA for 6 months; Mon-Thurs, 7am-6pm with a 60 min meal break
Candidates can expect up to 2 interviews; first is 1:1 wth the HM, 30min, 2nd tbd
Day-to-day activities of this role:
* 70% hands-on testing, 30% documentation
* Many tests are already planned & assigned; communicating w/ systems * engineering for modified or new requirements to be defined, tested & documented
* Collaborating w/ team on execution/automation of test procedures, and the documentation of results;
* Constant communication w/ test lab,
Qualities of the ideal candidate:
* Very technical person w/ excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
* Fast & skilled at programming;

* Someone with a positive mindset and is good at building relationships
* Any experience in medical or imaging instruments is a big plus
* The HM would accept someone w/ a lot more experience if they are within the budget
* Open to experience in any highly regulated industry

Responsibilities
- Design test procedures for the purposes of design verification.
- Execute released test procedures written by self and others to perform design verification of KS devices and systems.
- Collect, analyze, and display test results in a usable manner.
- Document and track issues found during verification activities.
- Frequent communication with design verification peers regarding status and schedules.
- Regular attendance is an essential job function.

- 0-3 years of experience in Design and Systems Verification.

- Experience with verifying complex devices and systems.
- Experience in Test Procedures and Requirements, including processes and tools (e.g. DOORS, PTC, Polarion, etc.).
- Experience in development processes (V-model, Agile, Lean).
- Familiarity with high level programming language/software such as MATLAB, Lab View, or similar to assist in developing automated testing and data collection.
- Ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility in dealing with changing priorities and work situations.
