Position Details:

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and coordination of Medical Directors in partnership with operational leadership.
• Lead quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management initiatives.
• Drive improvements in clinical outcomes, patient experience, operational performance, and physician engagement.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, respect, innovation, and professional growth.
• Partner with physician leaders and administrators to achieve organizational goals and strategic priorities.
• Integrate quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives across service lines and departments.
• Support physician recruitment, retention, leadership development, and succession planning.
• Champion Mercy Hospital South's position as a regional leader in providing exceptional healthcare.
• Serve as a key advisor and strategic partner to executive leadership.
• Dedicate full-time effort to the Chief Medical Officer role.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board certification in a recognized specialty
• Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience as a Medical Director, Department Chair, Chief of Staff, or physician executive
• Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, quality improvement, clinical governance, and medical management
• Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills
