Everest Global Wholesale & Specialty is seeking an underwriter to support financial lines in our Singapore office.
Responsibilities
Responsible for underwriting the suite of financial lines insurance products including Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers Liability, Financial Institutions, Cyber & Crime, as well as other long tail lines such as general liability, product liability, and medical malpractice.
Drive business production by assessing new and renewal business submissions with an eye on sustainable portfolio growth, and more importantly, profitability.
Exercise expert judgment in risk analysis, policy wording, and pricing when negotiating deals, while achieving the most ideal risk selection for Everest.
Achieve best in class servicing with key partner intermediaries, including wholesale & reinsurance brokers as well as local and global cedent insurers, while maintaining professional underwriting integrity and internal compliance standards.
Monitor portfolio performance, market trends, claims experience, and emerging risks to support informed underwriting decisions and portfolio optimization.
Push data excellence with accurate and timely maintenance of underwriting systems and data, including risk information, pricing adequacy and rate validation
Maintain strict adherence to underwriting guidelines and governance; Support peer reviews, audits, compliance activities, and underwriting quality assurance initiatives to uphold underwriting standards and best practices.
Manage internal stakeholders in operations and other support to ensure timely issuance of quotes, slips, binders, insurance certificates, renewal documentation, invoices, and other administrative requirements.
Participate in ad hoc projects, product development initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university; Relevant insurance or financial services qualifications is a plus
2 – 4 years of relevant underwriting expertise in financial lines, casualty, and/or other long-tail lines; Focused experience in construction professional indemnity or financial institutions products is a plus.
Broker and producer network across Asia or Pacific markets
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate complex risks, exercise sound underwriting judgment, and make decisions within delegated underwriting authority.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with brokers, clients, and internal partners across functions and geographies.
Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset, strong commercial acumen, and a commitment to continuous learning, development, and career progression.
Willingness to travel across Asia Pacific to support broker engagement, client interactions, and market development initiatives.
