GCEFCU has an opening for a Real Estate Closing Coordinator in the Real Estate team! This position plays a key role in supporting members with their loan applications by processing loans, making lending decisions, and coordinating loan disbursements.
The Real Estate Processor and Closing Coordinator will deliver high quality service to both internal and external members.
This position is a Pay Grade 10.
The schedule for the position is M-F 8:00am to 5:00pm at our Mortgage and Insurance building.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the Real Estate Department’s processing and closing pipelines by following-up with other Real Estate Processors, Underwriters, Loan Officers, Title Companies, and other credit union partners and CUSO’s to ensure real estate closings are timely and compliant.
- Reviews closing documents and processor work to ensure adherence to established quality assurance guidelines. Partners with the Quality Assurance Specialist and Real Estate leadership to recommend and implement updates to loan policies and procedures as needed. Consults with real estate attorneys on legal documentation matters related to real estate transactions.
- Ensures that Closing Disclosures and Closing Documents are within RESPA/TRID compliance and guidelines.
- Reviews funding documents to guarantee formal loan closings. Books loans onto Credit Union system(s), and updates loan statuses on Loan Origination System(s).
- Coordinate and back-up setup of new loan files and ordering all required services for preparation for underwriting. Typical services to be ordered: title, insurance, verification of employment, appraisal, flood, fraud check, updated trade lines on credit report, survey, case numbers, certificate of eligibility on Veterans loans, payoff, review power of attorney, etc.
- Responsible for compliance with Bank Secrecy Act and all governmental regulations and Credit Union policies and guidelines. Responsible for complying with the Federal Rules and Regulations as required by NCUA.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
- (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing,
or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific
skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
-This position requires a NMLS license.
