Description

The Revenue Processing Center is creating a list of Intermittent Revenue Coordinators open to career service:
  • Full-Time Transit Operators
Employees will be placed on the Intermittent Coordinator list in seniority order as determined by the union. These are intermittent shifts filled on an as-needed basis. Shifts are filled on a day-to-day basis or for longer time periods, on an on-call basis, based on seniority and availability, from the completed Intermittent list. Shifts are typically from 4:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday.Applying equity and social justice principles is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all King County employees. As an Intermittent Revenue Coordinator, you will apply equity and social justice principles that exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices to all aspects of the work.  You will also:
  • Handle, count and record cash and non-cash revenue
  • Accurately sorting, balancing, and accounting for cash and non-cash revenue, preparing cash deposits and entering data into spreadsheets to track cash counts and workload activities
  • Physical tasks involve lifting coin bags weighing up to 55 pounds each, adhering to security measures and performing work under surveillance.
  • Operating a county vehicle to retrieve and transport receiver bins weighing up to 1,500 pounds and to retrieve and transport lost items found on transit vehicles to the Lost and Found Office
  • Performing data entry of lost and found items
  • Receiving fare media as inventory into the county's financial software system; preparing and delivering fare media orders to Metro locations and sales outlets
  • Other related job duties as assigned

Other requirements are:
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and cash counting principles. Ability to add and subtract numbers accurately
  • Ability to effectively perform elementary desktop computer functions including email and basic Windows operations
  • Basic level proficiency in MS Word (ability to perform basic word processing functions) and MS Excel (ability to perform basic spreadsheet functions) is required
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift coin bags weighing up to 55 pounds either with or without accommodation
  • Ability to push portable (on wheels) receiver bins weighing up to 1,500 pounds
  • Dedication to customer service; dedication to meeting the needs of internal and external customers and establish and maintain effective relationships with customers
  • Ability to work in an office environment and work as a part of a small team, including ability to encourage collaboration and resolve interpersonal differences by quickly finding common ground and solving problems for the good of all
  • Ability to build rapport well and is easy to approach and talk to
  • Patience; willingness to be tolerant and understanding with people and processes; ability to listen and check before acting
  • Ability to maintain appropriate interpersonal interaction with vendors and employees from other sections
  • Ethical and trustworthy; adheres to integrity and honesty in workplace situations.
  • Ability to work independently
Necessary Special Requirements:
  • Valid Washington State driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • The work in this classification is performed under surveillance within the Revenue Processing Center work areas; the wearing of coveralls/labcoats is required (the coveralls/labcoats are provided)
  • You will be required to lift coin bags weighing up to 55 pounds on a continuous basis for extended periods of time and move portable revenue bins (on wheels) weighing up to 1,500 pounds
  • You will also be required to use a computer to perform basic functions using MS Word and enter data on MS Excel spreadsheets

Selection Process
Applications will be screened for qualifications, clarity and completeness. A record review of attendance and customer complaints (and accident record, for transit operators) will be conducted for competitive applicants. Those who pass will be scheduled for a skills test, physical abilities testing and a panel interview. A review of finalists' driving record will be conducted. Applicants who are selected are expected to successfully complete a two-week training. Failure to successfully complete training will result in ending the assignment.
