About the Role
The Finance Manager (FM) being representative from Maersk, is responsible for establishing relevant frameworks and competent teams, lead companies all financial matters and have ultimate responsibility for managing JV company's financial operations. Have accountability to the Board and exercising other authorities as delegated by the Board.

The role demonstrates Maersk Finance Community principles, integrity and work standards, and assisting the General Manager on all relevant management matters as one key member of the management teams within designated powers.

The FM plays important roles in providing strategic direction to the JV to expand and gain more market shares.

The FM directly leads the finance team and establishes a clear organizational structure, roles and responsibilities to ensure proper segregation of duties and effective team delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Controlling and Internal Controls Framework

  • Develop effective internal control framework for the JV, including relevant T&E or financial policies
  • Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, management and regulatory requirements
  • Lead internal and external audits, fixed assets and inventory counting
  • Implement process improvements to strengthen governance and efficiency
  • Formulate risk management control mechanism in relating to accounting, financial, credits, taxation risks etc.; have them reviewed on routine base and document key findings with remedies and improvement plans
  • Advocacy of compliant work culture within the new organization and lead the finance team to provide relevant cascading or training sessions in the first few months

Financial Reporting & Operational Accounting

  • Ensure monthly financial statements in accordance with applicable GAAP and controlled shareholders’ accounting or management reporting requirements
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accounting records and lead twice a year balance sheet review
  • Manage general ledger activities and oversee accounting operations so as to meet local statutory and tax report requirements

Budgeting & Monthly financial performance and forecasting

  • Lead annual budgeting and monthly rolling forecasting processes
  • Prepare and distribute meaningful financial KPIs to JV various department as per approved annual budget to ensure financial performance
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis as well as providing gap closure measures with JV leadership
  • Attend and lead monthly Maersk business review meeting on the performance of JV
  • Ensure forecast accuracy to avoid major surprises

Board meeting facilitator

  • Support and facilitate board meeting

Cost Management & Profitability Analysis

  • Monitor operational costs, including lease, transportation, warehousing, freight, customs, and other SG&A expenses
  • Analyze key deviation drivers of cost items
  • Provide recommendations for margin enhancement and productivity gains and track of improvement action effectiveness

Tax & Treasury

  • Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
  • Optimize working capital, including accounts receivable and accounts payable performance
  • Ensure timely annual dividend payout
  • Compliant annual tax filing, direct or indirect tax remittance

Business Partnering

  • Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, and Commercial teams to improve business performance
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support for pricing, contracts, and investments
  • Support contract negotiations with logistics service providers and customers
  • Develop financial models to support business (new gains or existing profitability) or investment (CAPEX or lease) decisions

Team Leadership

  • Manage, develop and engage a motivated finance team
  • Set performance objectives and conduct performance reviews
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred

Experience

  • 8+ years of finance leadership experience
  • Joint venture experience is a plus
  • At least 3-5 years in a managerial role
  • Led and organized Board Meeting in previous work experience
  • Experience in depot, logistics, supply chain, transportation, distribution, warehousing, or related industries preferred

Accounting and Finance Skills

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting standards
  • Must have hands‑on experience with SAP group reporting system
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
