Job Title: Process Optimization Services Consultant

Location: Seoul, Korea

Employment Type: full-time

The job

As a Process Optimization Services Consultant, you will help customers improve plant performance, reliability, and profitability by implementing and sustaining AVEVA process optimization solutions. Working as part of the Services team, this role combines deep process engineering knowledge, hands-on delivery capability, and customer-facing consulting skills. You will be expected to lead complex workstreams, guide other consultants, and act as a trusted advisor for customers across refining, petrochemicals, oil and gas, and energy-intensive industries.

Key responsibilities

•    Lead the delivery of AVEVA Process Optimization and AVEVA Process Simulation, real-time optimization, and related digital twin projects from assessment through design, configuration, testing, deployment, and handover.
•    Work with customers to understand operating objectives, process constraints, data availability, and business value drivers, then translate them into practical optimization scope, deliverables, and success criteria.
•    Build, validate, tune, and support rigorous process models, data reconciliation workflows, optimization cases, online run sequences, and performance monitoring dashboards.
•    Provide technical leadership during project execution, including solution design, issue resolution, customer workshops, acceptance testing, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
•    Contribute to proposals, estimation, SOW review, delivery planning, risk assessment, and continuous improvement of AVEVA Services methods and reusable assets.

Essential requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
•    More than 8 years of relevant industry experience as a Process Engineer, Plant Operations Engineer, or equivalent role in refining, petrochemical, oil and gas, chemical, or energy-intensive process industries.

•    Strong experience in process simulation, real-time optimization, APC, refinery or petrochemical operations, or industrial process performance improvement.
•    Hands-on experience with AVEVA Process Optimization, ROMeo, PRO/II, AVEVA Process Simulation, APC tools, or similar industrial optimization and historian platforms.
•    Proven ability to deliver customer-facing consulting projects, manage technical scope, and communicate clearly with engineers, operations teams, IT teams, and management stakeholders.
•    Demonstrated ability to lead complex engagements, mentor consultants, influence solution architecture, and support commercial or strategic customer discussions.

Desired skills

•    Strong analytical mindset with the ability to connect process engineering, data quality, economics, and operational decision-making into measurable customer outcomes.
•    Experience with Python, SQL, Power BI, PI AF, PI Vision, data integration, or AI/ML-assisted process analytics is an advantage.
•    Consultative communication style with the confidence to facilitate workshops, challenge assumptions, and build trust with customers and senior stakeholders.
•    Curiosity to learn new AVEVA technologies, aspiration to improve delivery quality, and a practical focus on creating impact through reliable, scalable, and repeatable services.
