Job Description:

Join our CAD team to broaden your impact by shaping the tools, flows, and infrastructure used throughout Microchip.

With your knowledge of integrated circuits and your programming skills you'll get to implement automation and flows for custom integrated circuit design.

How?

• you'll develop and maintain automation utilities using Cadence SKILL and Linux scripting languages.
• you'll provide user support for the Process Design Kits (PDKs) and the design capture and layout tools to worldwide design centers and technical contractors.
• providing user training, both in person and online, and maintaining web documentation is also included.
• you will contribute to methodology development that improves design productivity, including flow automation, environment configuration, and design data management.
• by developing and maintaining in-house PDKs and customize external foundry PDKs.
• by creating scripts to ensure compatibility and integration of simulation, physical verification, and parasitic extraction collateral within the PDK.

Everything involves close collaboration with design teams, technology development teams, and several groups within the CAD department.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in analog or mixed signal IC design, including schematic, layout design, and physical verification
• Hands on experience with Process Design Kit (PDK) development, maintenance, and support
• Experience with automation of Cadence IC tools and scripting or programming (using Python, SKILL, Bash, Perl,Tcl/Tk, or similar)
• Familiarity with EDA tools used in IC design
• Excellent technical communication skills with fluency in English
• Ability to balance customer support requests with development tasks
• Experience with Design Data Management software is a plus
