Let’s Talk about the Role

The Field Operations Leader will manage the strategic deployment of engineering resources and oversee the integrity of technical training, certification, and apprenticeship frameworks.

You will act as the primary operational lead for our field service engineering talent, ensuring that our technical teams are prepared, compliant, and positioned for success. You will bridge the gap between project demands and resource availability, driving continuous improvement in scheduling and talent development to ensure we meet our commitments to customers while fostering the growth of our future engineers.

How You Will Make a Difference

• Leading the strategic coordination of field engineering schedules, ensuring seamless alignment with project milestones.
• Building strong relationships across business units to resolve resource demands and facilitate the sharing of expertise.
• Creating and implementing end-to-end process improvements that eliminate operational silos and increase efficiency.
• Developing the next generation of technical talent by mentoring apprentices and tracking their career milestones.
• Fostering a culture of compliance by serving as the authority for technical training and certification databases.
• Collaborating with leadership to develop accurate labour forecasts and cost estimates for large-scale tenders.
• Improving operational readiness by auditing performance metrics and executing strategic development roadmaps.

Special Role Requirements

• Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments.
• Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.
• Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.
• A full, clean driving licence is required.

Skills for Success

You should be a proactive leader with a passion for operational excellence and talent development, featuring:

• The ability to translate complex project schedules into actionable resource plans.
• The capability to mentor and guide apprentices through their professional development journeys.
• An understanding of technical training standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
• An expertise in project planning and resource management software.
• A keen interest in driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

A formal education in electrical engineering or a related subject is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position based out of our Rugby office. We are big on collaboration and connection, so you will be based on-site to work closely with our engineering and project teams.
