Job Summary
The CCM Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting all aspects of financial management and reporting at the Center for Comparative Medicine (CCM), supporting the Mass General Research Institute’s biomedical program.This will include cost and revenue analysis, financial statement reporting
and auditing, and ROI analysis for investments.

Essential Functions:
- Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management.
- Creates ad hoc reports and performs financial analysis.
- Develops financial plans and reports for organizational leaders.
- Reviews financial reporting and ensures data integrity to enable management decisions.
- Evaluate capital expenditures and depreciation.
- Analyze processes to identify gaps that can improve profit margins.

Qualifications
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create a monthly revenue report by revenue category including trend analysis and variances to budget; audit revenue uploads.
• Summarize monthly P&L results by grant for monthly management report, including cost category trends.
• Publish weekly and monthly census reports; analyze trends.
• Audit purchase orders, invoices, cost reports and voucher detail to identify and resolve inaccurate vendor payments.
• Create ROI analyses for capital purchases and strategic initiatives.
• Analyze major supply cost categories (personal protective equipment, food, bedding, sentinel testing) to identify areas that could benefit from RFP initiatives and standardization. Aid in RFP process and vendor negotiations.
• Assist with activity-based costing efforts to understand cost per unit across all of CCM’s key services (per diems, research services, procurement).
• Assist in statistical process control initiatives; distribute “dashboard” reports and assist managers in understanding metrics.
• Serve as department liaison to accounts payable to ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner and to ensure vouchers and payments are accurate
• Learn and practice lean management techniques.
• Become cross-trained and provide back-up, as needed, for administrative team (billing, procurement, others as assigned).
• Comply with and follow CCM and MGH policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education
- Associate's Degree Related Field of Study required.
- Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study strongly preferred: Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Financial Analysis/planning preferred.
- Strong knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word required.
