We’re hiring for a hybrid role. You’ll work on-site with your team several days each week (typically 2–3), with the specific days set by your manager. Because regular in-person collaboration is central to this job, we look for candidates who live within about 50 miles of the office.

About the role:
The role of Software Engineer in Test II at Everfox presents an exciting opportunity to advance your career in cybersecurity. This role involves utilizing various engineering and interpersonal skills to enhance the quality of our products. As a member of the QA Software Integration team, you will be responsible for planning, creating, and executing complex manual and automated tests across our portfolio of cybersecurity products.
Location: Hybrid - Dallas/Fort Worth, TX or Richardson, TX
What you will do:
• Create scripts in various programming languages to automate testing of Linux‑based cybersecurity applications.
• Plan, create and execute integration tests across Everfox’s portfolio of products.
• Validate cybersecurity software products using systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards.
• Create, update, and execute software testing processes in an agile scrum environment.
• Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.
• Analyze test results/data to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action.
• Consult with members of the development team in resolution of challenges.
• Develop professional expertise, apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
• Provide feedback in preparation of technical appraisals and regulatory approval.
• Apply standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in daily workflow.
• Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Contribute to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
• Ability to obtain US‑government‑issued Secret Security Clearance.
• University degree and 2-4 years of related experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with Linux/Unix based operating systems.
• Good understanding of network protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP, SFTP, IP) and network security (Firewall, RSA, PKI).
• Test automation using Linux shell scripting, Python etc., including experience with Pytest frameworks or similar.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, or equivalent).
• Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work from the office 2–3 days per week or on an as‑required basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Lab Base Security Assessments.
• Experience using Zephyr Scale test case manager in JIRA.
• Experience with virtualized environments (VMware, Vsphere, ESXi).
• Experience utilizing GenAI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to accelerate test design, automation, and analysis.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is:
$98,900.00-129,200.00 USDThe actual salary offered may vary within the range based on a candidates' unique experience, locale, and business needs. In addition to a base salary and bonus plans, Everfox offers a generous benefits package including flexible PTO, a 401k match, and contribution to healthcare coverages.
