Description
Setka Cup is a professional sports league focused on creating and developing high-quality sports competitions.
We organize tournaments and manage the full competition cycle - from preparing players and building balanced line-ups to running matches, monitoring performance, and continuously improving the quality of the game.
As we continue to develop our beach volleyball direction, we are looking for a Performance & Development Manager - Beach Volleyball who will take ownership of player performance, competitive balance, and game quality across our tournaments.
About the role
This role is for someone who really understands beach volleyball - the game, the players, the rules, and what makes a match competitive and engaging.
You will work directly with players, tournament teams, and venue organizers to maintain a high standard of competition. You will evaluate player performance, help create balanced pairs, run training and feedback sessions, analyze matches, and identify areas where players or tournament processes can improve.
This is a hands-on role. You won’t only analyze performance from reports - you will regularly visit venues, watch games, work directly with players, and help shape the standards of our beach volleyball competitions.
What you’ll do
- Evaluate individual player skill levels and the overall competitiveness of beach volleyball pairs.
- Build and maintain balanced player pools and competitive pairings across tournament brackets.
- Conduct training sessions, workshops, and practical coaching for players and venue teams.
- Develop tactical recommendations and game models adapted to commercial beach volleyball, including rally dynamics, serving strategy, and sand defense.
- Monitor match quality and identify performance issues, technical gaps, or unusual game patterns.
- Help prevent passive or low-quality gameplay and maintain a strong competitive standard throughout matches.
- Apply modern beach volleyball practices and official FIVB Beach Volleyball rules to tournament operations.
- Identify technical and performance gaps and conduct practical sessions to help players improve.
- Review match footage to identify gameplay anomalies, officiating mistakes, and unsportsmanlike behavior.
- Conduct on-site briefings and error review sessions with players and match-day teams.
- Prepare match-quality reports after venue visits, including findings and recommendations for improvement.
- Run training camps and player pool calibration before competitions launch at new venues.
- Work closely with the Lead of the Operations and Trading team to continuously improve tournament and match quality.
- Collaborate with the Integrity team when investigating suspicious gameplay patterns, anomalies, or match incidents.
- Regularly visit tournament venues to conduct training sessions, match audits, and performance reviews.
What we’re looking for
- At least 2 years of practical experience in volleyball or beach volleyball as a coach, player, referee, scout, tournament coordinator, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of FIVB Beach Volleyball rules and the specifics of the game, including referee signals, overhand passing rules, side switches, and sand and weather conditions.
- Experience evaluating player skill levels and creating balanced, competitive pairs.
- Experience conducting training sessions, briefings, or practical feedback sessions.
- Strong video analysis skills and the ability to identify technical mistakes, unusual match patterns, officiating issues, and unsportsmanlike behavior.
- Confident use of Google Sheets / Excel for player databases, tournament information, and quality reporting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to give clear, constructive feedback to players and organizers.
- Readiness for regular on-site visits to tournament venues.
- Ability to work from the office and closely collaborate with the Operations and Trading teams.
- English at Intermediate level or higher, including the ability to understand official FIVB regulations.
It would be a strong advantage if you have
- Experience working with commercial sports leagues, Fast Sports, or similar competition formats.
- A professional background in beach volleyball coaching or refereeing.
- Experience developing or improving player performance systems.
- Experience working with player pools and maintaining competitive balance across tournaments.
Why join Setka Cup?
This role gives you an opportunity to directly influence the quality of beach volleyball competitions and the development of the players taking part in them.
You will combine your sports expertise with performance analysis, coaching, and tournament operations. You’ll see how your decisions affect the game in practice — from stronger individual performance and better-balanced pairs to more competitive and higher-quality matches.
You will also have the opportunity to help shape performance standards as the beach volleyball direction grows, introduce new approaches, and build processes that can be scaled across different venues.
We offer:
- A role with direct influence on player development and tournament quality.
- An opportunity to shape performance standards for a growing sports direction.
- Hands-on work with players, tournaments, and sports operations.
- An international and dynamic working environment.
- A professional team with clear areas of responsibility.
- Competitive and timely payment.
- Flexible working hours and a hybrid work format.
- Professional development, mentoring, and support.
- Team-building and corporate events.
- 100% paid sick leave.
- 20 working days of paid vacation.
- Paid childcare leave.
If beach volleyball is more than just a sport for you - and you know how to recognize great performance, develop players, and create truly competitive matches - we’d love to hear from you.
