SCOPE OF POSITION:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Director, Private Equity will have responsibility for origination, execution and management of investments in the business services sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sourcing new investment opportunities and presenting merits to the Investment Committee

  • Manage the diligence process for new investments, including coordinating with various advisors/consultants, reviewing financial analysis and overseeing junior team members

  • Responsible for the asset management of portfolio companies by working closely with management teams and the board to execute value creation initiatives

  • Oversees quarterly and annual reporting and valuation process related to the portfolio companies

  • Support capital structure management, including debt refinancing, tax planning and capital budgeting

  • Develop and maintain deep coverage of the Business Services sector (e.g., commercial services, outsourced services, tech-enabled services, industrial services, professional services).

  • Build and manage relationships with intermediaries, executives, independent sponsors, and industry advisors.

  • Mentor Associates and Vice Presidents through analytical and diligence processes.

  • Partner with management teams on strategic initiatives including: Add-on acquisitions, Operational improvement, Talent recruitment, Systems and infrastructure upgrades

Required Capabilities:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in direct buyout private equity, including prior experience in investment banking or principal investing or consulting.  Business services experience is an asset.

  • Proven ability to engage effectively with CEOs and senior management teams

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and timelines

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and both written & verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrate attention to detail and strong analytical skills

  • Embrace collaborative sharing of knowledge within a team environment

Preferred Capabilities:

  • Experience serving on Boards or working closely with portfolio companies preferred.

  • Be intellectually curious and have a long investment horizon

  • Commitment to stay current on a variety of topics related to the investment themes being explored

  • Driven to achieving results and continuously striving to deliver the highest performance through creative thinking

  

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. The base salary that is ultimately offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set. 

 

The expected salary range for this position is $265,000.00 - $365,000.00 per year.
