Compensation: $7,271 - $8,824 / month



Description

Perform duties and assignments of a general scope related to the functions of the Human Resources Department; perform studies, undertake projects and prepare reports; perform special assignments, as assigned.

Completion of accurate and efficient payroll, including processing payroll, maintaining time keeping records, reviewing payroll and payroll reports for accuracy, and maintaining accurate set up and tax filings federally as well as in multiple states and jurisdictions.

Expected to align personal goals with OVEC/IKEC Strategic Business Plan, it’s the Mission, Vision and Values, as well as its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts.


Key Responsibilities

Assist the department in carrying out human resources functions for all Company employees, performing tasks to establish and maintain payroll records, including but not limited to:

  • Input, review, and audit timekeeping and other payroll related records
  • Post changes in pay, tax status, and other miscellaneous categories
  • Compute wage, overtime, and other types of pay
  • Maintains direct deposit documentation and pre-note processes
  • Calculate and record payroll deductions (voluntary and involuntary)
  • Reconcile earnings and deduction totals
  • Upload batch data into ADP system
  • Calculate and prepare general journal entries
  • Reconciles month end, quarter end, and year end 
  • Process garnishments
  • Verify ADP tax reports
  • Verifies and reconciles W2s
  • Compile payroll data for management, auditors, and others
  • Serve as back-up to other human resources representative
  • Document procedures
  • Address and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Take initiative; demonstrate strong decision-making and organizational skills
  • Initiate best practices; develop efficiency improvements
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned

Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.

Maintain good employee relations by informing employees of Company policies; investigate causes of complaint and assist when necessary.

Keep informed of the latest regulations, practices and procedures with regard to human resources administration as well as payroll best practices and consistently apply these to ensure efficiency and economy in the operation of the department.

Perform duties in accordance with all applicable federal and state safety laws and regulations, and all applicable Company safety rules and operating procedures; assure that safe work practices are followed by conducting safety meetings and making suggestions for the improvement of the safety program and encourage others to do so consistent with the Company’s goal of Zero Harm.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Human Resources.

One to two years of payroll experience
