Overview

Waters is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Chemistry Account Manager based in the metro areas of Des Moine, IA, Kansas City, MO or St. Louis, MO responsible for selling Waters chemistry & consumable product lines within the assigned geographic territory. These products include HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS and SFC columns, sample prep products, standards, vials, and other consumables.

 

Responsibilities will include delivering technical presentations, organizing customer meetings, performing on location product demonstrations, and taking part in regional business events to sell chemistry consumables products into a wide variety of markets, including life science, pharmaceutical, food and environmental, and chemical materials. The foundation of the Chemistry Account Manager’s role is to develop a keen understanding of the customers’ needs and challenges, designing solutions with lasting and meaningful business impact.

 

The desired candidate is a motivated initiative-taker who will develop and implement a territory business plan which includes an aggressive call cycle and business development customer-facing activities. Business development activities include but not limited to working with other sales account managers, technical sales specialists, service & support engineers, and marketing professionals.

 

The territory covers the US states of Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. Frequent overnight travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver on an annual business plan to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Maintain and grow assigned sales territory by visiting customers daily to understand their needs and challenges while promoting Waters solutions
  • Aggressively develop new prospects and penetrate competitive accounts
  • Build technical competence on Waters chemistry and consumables product portfolio
  • Submit accurate and timely sales forecasts
  • Fully utilize sales contact management tools and applications
  • Provide feedback to marketing team by keeping current on market dynamics, application trends, and the competitive landscape

Qualifications

  • Minimum of BS/BA in chemistry or a related scientific discipline
  • 3 years of practical experience using LC and/or LC/MS instruments and/or previous work experience in managing a sales territory is an advantage
  • Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
  • Strong people skills,a mature disposition with a srong sense of committment and a cheerful outlook
  • Action oriented and self-driven for results
  • Adaptive and able to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment                                                        #LI-Remote
