About the role
The Four Seasons Resort and Residences, Okinawa is looking for a Director of Sales,
The Director of Sales is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving total resort revenue through strategic oversight of the Leisure and Group sales segments. This role is ideal for an accomplished, commercially minded sales leader with prior Director of Sales and pre-opening experience, preferably within a luxury hotel or resort environment. The successful candidate will bring a sophisticated understanding of luxury sales strategy, revenue optimization, team leadership, and client relationship management, with the ability to operate confidently in a complex and highly competitive Resort market.
As a key member of the Commercial leadership team, the Director of Sales will partner closely with the Commercial Director, Revenue Management, Marketing, Conference Services, and Operations to ensure all sales efforts are aligned with the resort’s broader business objectives. This individual will be responsible for leading a seasoned and tenured remote and on-property sales team, providing strategic direction, coaching, accountability, and inspiration to drive both individual and collective performance. The role requires a polished, proactive, and results-oriented leader who can balance long-term strategic planning with daily execution, while representing the Four Seasons brand with excellence, credibility, and commercial discipline.
What you will do
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and achieve resort budget targets.
Recruit, lead and manage the sales team to ensure sales activities are aligned to achieve overall goals and objectives.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with guests, vendors, colleagues, and the global sales network.
Monitor sales production, analyze market data, and adjust sales strategies to meet planned goals.
Negotiate and secure group contracts, considering room availability, rates, and revenue objectives.
Participate in trade shows, promotional events, and networking opportunities to develop new markets and identify potential clients.
Analyze sales performance data, prepare reports, and present findings to senior management.
Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts, ensuring retention and repeat business.
Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
Conduct performance evaluations and follow up with sales and events personnel for development and coaching opportunities.
Perform all supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned, including but not limited to labor and payroll, compliance training, safety instruction and guidance on expense and travel management.
Direct sales activities of the Resort to achieve budgeted and assigned goals.
Monitor and identify current and future business trends to insure profitable sales in periods of low and high demand.
Assist in the development of the annual marketing plan.
Ensure project and business plans are executed for all market areas as stated in the resort marketing plan with emphasis on increasing sales and profitability.
Supervise the installation of sales and marketing procedures and ensure the resort is following all company Operating Standards.
Assist the Commercial Director in establishing and directing the development of annual sales goals; ensures goals and incentive programs are fully understood and implemented for maximum achievement.
Regular travel is required with this position.
What you bring
Proven leadership experience in hotel, resort or sales, preferably in the luxury hospitality market for minimum of two years (preferably with multi properties experience)
Excellent knowledge of resort operating system i.e Sales Force, Delphi, and Opera
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Results-oriented and self-motivated, with a passion for sales and achieving targets.
Organized, disciplined, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Fluent in English, with knowledge of Japanese language being an advantage.
Assertive and diplomatic approach to business relationships.
Strong understanding of the local and regional hospitality industry.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Schedule & Hours:
As our resort is open 24/7, 365 days a year, we expect our Director of Sales to be flexible in working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays if required
