Senior Systems Engineer / Analyst

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our engineering team supporting the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Program in Dahlgren, Virginia and Washington, DC. This position will assist with and lead SLCM-N development, installation, and training efforts for SLCM-N Fire Control, providing systems engineering expertise in support of our customer.

The Senior Systems Engineer will support the evaluation and development of new concepts, technologies, software, hardware, and weapon system capabilities while providing technical guidance and systems engineering support for Navy strategic systems.

Senior Systems Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Provide Systems Engineering support for the evaluation of new concepts and designs for SLBM groups at NSWC Dahlgren supporting Strategic Systems Programs.
• Provide installation and training support for the SLCM-N Program.
• Perform analysis and review activities related to new designs and implementations of the Fire Control System for SLCM-N.
• Support the development of new concepts and technologies and research potential new Fleet capabilities.
• Coordinate and work closely with other engineering and management disciplines to support design, training, and installation milestones.
• Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and design artifacts.
• Provide direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels, delivering systems engineering support.
• Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards related to SLCM-N development.
• Support the identification, analysis, and resolution of complex systems engineering issues involving platform, weapon, combat, Command and Control (C2), and fire control systems.
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, OR 10 years of demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise.
• Ten (10) years of professional systems engineering experience with a DoD major strategic platform, weapon, combat, Command and Control (C2), and/or fire control systems program.
• Five (5) years of concurrent experience as a team leader, performing systems engineering and mission engineering efforts that include developing requirements and top-level designs and/or system architectures for software-intensive systems.
• Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex systems engineering issues involving platform, weapon, combat, C2, and fire control systems for Navy/Joint warfighting capabilities.
• Must have an active Secret U.S. Government security clearance. Note: U.S. citizenship is required to maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) or other SLBM organizations supporting Fire Control System development.
• Top Secret clearance.

       

Compensation Details:

US: $150,000 - $170,000
