About the Role
As the Director of Resource Management & Talent Casting, you are the strategic matchmaker between our briefs and our talent for one of our biggest clients. You lead and elevate our casting and resourcing practice across all disciplines, from Account Management and Strategy to Creatives, Makers (Designers, Editors, Animators, Copywriters and AI Artists), and Technology specialists (Developers, Implementation Engineers and Consultants).
You take on the complex, high-stakes resourcing puzzle, managing an elite freelance network while overseeing two dedicated Casters who handle day-to-day fulfillment. You collaborate directly with Creative, Strategic, Account, Technology and Operational leadership to ensure every brief is matched with the absolute best talent in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling agency environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Talent Casting & High-Performance Matching
- Precision Matching Across All Roles: Own the high-level casting strategy across Account Management, Strategy, Creative, Maker (Design, Motion, Edit, AI), and Tech/Dev disciplines. Ensure team compositions match specific brief demands, client nuances, and project complexity.
- Leadership Alignment: Partner directly with Creative, Strategic, Account, and Technology Leadership to evaluate upcoming briefs and curate dream teams that elevate output rather than just fulfill headcount.
- Team Leadership & Management: Oversee, mentor, and direct two dedicated Casters. Delegate routine resourcing needs while personally tackling complex, high-profile, or cross-functional team allocations.
- Consistency in High-Growth Environments: Establish standard operating procedures for resourcing that maintain high quality and consistency, even as agency volume upscales and project timelines shift.
2. Sourcing & Freelance Network Development (NAMER & LATAM)
- Deep Freelance Sourcing: Build, curate, and maintain a high-caliber, battle-tested network of independent freelancers across North America (NAMER) and preferably Latin America (specifically Argentina, Mexico and Brazil).
- Proactive Talent Scouting: Continuously identify and pre-vet top-tier talent across emerging disciplines so the agency can scale instantly when major projects drop.
- End-to-End Freelance Lifecycle: Lead outreach, portfolio and technical screening, rate negotiations, and contract onboarding to build an agile, elastic workforce.
- Cross-Border Resourcing: Leverage LATAM talent networks to provide regional expertise, cost efficiencies, and extended production bandwidth without sacrificing quality.
3. Resourcing Operations & Capacity Planning
- Macro Resourcing Strategy: Balance full-time employee (FTE) utilization with elastic freelance talent to maintain optimal agency profitability and burnout prevention.
- Conflict Resolution & Escalation: Serve as the final decision-maker when competing business priorities clash over key talent.
- Market & AI Trends: Stay ahead of industry shifts in tech and AI maker tools, integrating cutting-edge talent into our resourcing matrix.
- Cross-Functional HR & Talent Acquisition Alignment: Partner closely with internal HR and Recruiting to bridge full-time hiring needs with temporary or contract talent solutions, ensuring seamless onboarding, compliant contracting, and competitive compensation benchmarks across NAMER and LATAM.
- Pipeline Transition & Employer Brand: Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to convert top-performing freelance talent into permanent candidates when strategic FTE roles open up, while maintaining consistent brand standards and candidate experience across all touch points.
About You
The essentials:
- Experience: 8-10+ years in resource management, creative operations, or agency casting at top-tier creative, digital, or integrated agencies.
- Extensive Freelance Network: An established, active Rolodex of freelance talent in NAMER and preferably LATAM (Mexico, Argentina, Brazil) covering creative, strategic, account management, project management, production, and technology roles.
- Leadership Capabilities: Proven track record of managing and developing mid-senior level resourcing staff or casters.
- Multi-Disciplinary Literacy: Ability to evaluate portfolios, technical skills, and candidate fit across non-creative roles (Dev/Tech/Strategy/Accounts) as comfortably as creative/maker roles.
- High EQ & Negotiation Savvy: Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage egos, resolve resource conflicts, and negotiate competitive freelance rates.
- Adaptability: Thrives in a constantly changing, scaling agency setting with shifting priorities and rapid delivery cycles.

- Casting Precision: High satisfaction rate from discipline leads (Creative, Tech, Strategy, Accounts) on team composition and output quality.
- Network Health & Agility: Speed-to-fill for urgent freelance needs using pre-vetted NAMER and LATAM talent pools.
- Operational Consistency: Effective management of the casting team, leading to smooth resourcing operations and balanced workload distribution across the agency.
