Responsibilities

The Foundations Lab is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Foundations Lab as a key member of a high performing team. We are looking for a motivated, forward-thinking engineer who is excited to contribute to new initiatives in an R&D environment and can adapt to evolving requirements and learn emerging tools and technologies that will enhance the value that we deliver to our customers.

 

In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Architect (CA) and Lead Software Engineer (LSE), to mature customer ideas into viable tools and products in order to help mitigate risks to future customer acquisitions.

 

You will be expected to:

• Track user and lab project requirements 
• Understand system and architecture requirements 
• Deploy containerized applications to AWS using EC2, ECS, and S3, optimizing performance and reducing infrastructure costs
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to uphold best practices
• Participate in customer briefings, such as Lab status discussions and product demonstrations 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

• 16+ Years’ experience working with various satellite-based electro-optical sensor platforms
• Minimum master’s degree in science (or similar technical degree) 
• Active TS/SCI Clearance with Poly
• Experience with deploying containerized applications to AWS
• Experience with building reusable Typescript components and RESTful services 

Desired Qualifications: 

• CompTIA Security + certification 
• Versed in Agile Development methodologies
• Experience with JIRA 
• Experience with Java, C++, Python, SQL, Docker, Linux, Git, Gitlab, Amazon web services
• AWS Cloud: EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, IAM, KMS, System Manager, CloudFormation, Elastic Search, API Gateway, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, DynamoDB, Python 3.7, PyCharm, JDK 11

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
