Req. ID:
JR107383 PDE MRDA PROCSS ENGINEER
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
As a Engineer in PDE (Package Development & Engineering) at Micron, you will be responsible for the Advance Packaging success within your scope (MRDA) and guided by functional objectives, in terms of process, equipment and materials definition, development and/or optimization. You will be reviewing and analyzing experimental process flows to identify defect anomalies and quarantine out-of-control process tools is crucial. Embracing continuous improvement and seeking ways to enhance operations, while raising awareness of process anomalies by recognizing and communicating issues promptly, ensures a proactive approach. Leveraging inline process signals to drive process improvements using real-time data, alongside exploring new inspection tools and strategies for earlier problem detection and source identification, fosters innovation. Innovating with existing tools by developing techniques to identify relevant process issues, managing image classification models to enable automated reporting systems, and collaborating with the global network to develop best-known methods and maintain alignment between sites, are all integral to advancing the MRDA area.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
## Yield Improvement and Quality Control
- Collaborate with Process Integration, Yield Enhancement, Production, Process areas, and Quality Engineering to identify opportunities for baseline yield improvement and excursion control.
- Design, set up, and analyze SWRs to evaluate and implement process changes for yield improvements in the shortest possible time.
- Identify and advocate for key conversions that will improve yields through data analysis and make recommendations for the next phase.
- Develop and distribute periodic reports tracking the performance metrics of specific defects.
- Regularly review defect trends, set up containment, defect, and performance qualification procedures and frequency of sampling, and take appropriate actions.
- Qualify conversions and new processes via Global Conversion Progress (GCP) business process and improve the process cost of ownership, throughput, and performance through tool expansion/second reticle/chemical supplier releases.
- Reduce scrap and prevent/mitigate excursions by characterizing the process response to parameters through experiment or test run summaries.
- Using AI to help the yield analyze.
##
Collaboration and Communication
- Work with Suppliers to improve inline detection and/or determine process relevancy.
- Assist in overall RDA cycle time management and capacity by optimizing sampling or inspection steps accordingly, and update line health daily according to rules.
- Partner with Production and Shift Engineering to implement corrective actions for excursions through reaction mechanisms and other line control methods.
- Document and share improvement activities with sister fabs in the network.
- Work on long-term projects with the global team to improve and align BKMs (Best Known Methods) in the Fab.
##
Leadership and Technical Expertise
- Encourage the writing of technical papers and update weekly when required.
- Maintain KPI/Yield system or similar metric system and prioritize daily tasks/meetings for efficient execution.
- Cover other process loops when always needed and adhere to Fab discipline.
- Take on leader responsibility when required.
- Expected to leverage AI-powered tools and data-driven insights to improve operational efficiency, problem-solving, decision-making, and continuous process optimization while ensuring responsible and effective use of AI technologies.
