Job Responsibilities 

Software Design & Development

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain custom applications, services, APIs, integrations, and automation solutions that address complex business needs.

  • Translate functional requirements into technical designs, architecture decisions, development plans, and reliable production-ready solutions.

  • Write clean, secure, reusable, and well-documented code using modern software development practices and appropriate programming languages and frameworks.

  • Build responsive, accessible front-end interfaces using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Blazor, along with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.

  • Translate wireframes, mockups, and design systems into functional user interfaces, and partner with UI/UX designers to refine layout, interaction patterns, and visual consistency.

Technical Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead the technical execution of assigned development initiatives, including solution design, estimation, prioritization, code review, release planning, and delivery coordination.

  • Establish and promote engineering standards for source control, testing, documentation, security, maintainability, and application lifecycle management.

  • Partner with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security, data, and product teams to resolve technical dependencies and deliver integrated solutions.

Systems Integration & Quality

  • Build and support integrations across enterprise, tax, data, and workflow platforms using APIs, event-driven patterns, data pipelines, and other integration methods.

  • Develop automated tests, coordinate user acceptance testing, troubleshoot defects, monitor solution performance, and drive issue resolution across development and production environments.

Stakeholder Partnership & Enablement

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand workflows, define requirements, evaluate options, and recommend practical technical solutions.

  • Create technical documentation, release communications, and training materials to support adoption, knowledge transfer, and effective solution ownership.

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor application health, reliability, usage, and business impact; identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, supportability, and user experience.

  • Gather user feedback and usability insights, and apply them to iteratively improve interface design, workflow efficiency, and overall product usability.

  • Provide clear updates to leadership and key stakeholders on delivery progress, technical risks, dependencies, decisions, and recommended next steps.

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting production applications or automation solutions.

  • At least 1 year of experience leading technical projects, mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, or coordinating software delivery across teams.

  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, such as C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python, and experience with APIs, databases, source control, and automated testing.

  • Working knowledge of secure software development practices, cloud or enterprise application architecture, CI/CD, monitoring, troubleshooting, and application lifecycle management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing solutions in Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, or comparable cloud and low-code environments.

  • Experience with relational databases, data modeling, SQL, REST APIs, integration patterns, and enterprise system connectivity.

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery practices, DevOps tools, product management concepts, and modern software architecture patterns.

  • Experience developing technology solutions for tax, accounting, financial, or professional services workflows; familiarity with platforms such as CCH Axcess, GoSystem, Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus.
